Maybe not the best example, but whenever I think about games being rushed/delayed, I just think about that quote.

They once said that Breath of the Wild was "definitely" coming out in 2015, and then "definitely" in 2016, also.

And these Xenoblade games tend to have long dev cycles. So......nah.

He forgot to mention the addendum "...so long as some crazy old designer doesn't slap a pointless and broken but "neat" gameplay gimmick concept onto the game, thereby utterly ruining what otherwise might at least have been an OKAY release.

I myself was already disappointed that this game wasn't a full-blown NEW Star Fox game, in the STYLE of SF64, but with all new levels and story. Instead, we basically get a "SF64 Remix", which I felt was lazy and pointless. BUT, I still likely would have gotten it, if they hadn't made that crappy control style the ONLY option.

So a 7 means bad now.

XC 2 looks to be made with the same XCX engine, while textures and character models look like the original XC. It's also Monolith's second HD game, so their more familiar with the difficulties behind it.

But, I expect it to be delayed to Q1. For the same reason DKC: TF got delayed to Q1. Release schedule.

Personally I think the best time to release this game is, assuming the development until then is complete, October.By then, the Switch will have a decent install base(for the ammount of time it has been released, and Im assuming here the number will be around 7 to 8 millions), it wont be that close to Mario so that it dosent get overshadowed by it, and is close enough to the holidays to get a good boost due to it being still fresh on gamers minds(it would be a better boost than holidays 2018, relatively speaking, than it would have if it released Q1 2018).

I disagree.  Platinum is not on Nintendo's level.
