-Switch sells 2.74 million units worldwide, software at 5.46 million, Zelda at 3.84 million

 

Nintendo shared some key statistics about Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as part of its financial results today.

First, total hardware sales for Switch stands at 2.74 million worldwide. The system has also moved 5.46 million software units.

 

Switch generated the most sales in the Americas with 1.2 million units. Next up was Europe at 940,000 units. Japan rounds things out with 600,000 units.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has seen “immense popularity,” Nintendo says. It sold 2.76 million copies on Switch alone, and 3.84 million with Wii U included.

So the Switch sold in Europe more than in the US?
Because the March NPD report said that the Switch sold >906k in the US and in Nintendo's statement they said that it sold 940k units in Europe.
That would be an interesting twist.

I expect Switch will be over 4m by end of April.



End of March, correct?
Well, it's safe to say they met that 2 million units shipped expectation.

Thats not Europe. Nintendo divides sales into 3 regions.

Japan

Americas (North and South)

Other (Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa)
