That's an awfully conservative sales target, guess they are doing the opposite this gen over what they did last year (overestimating and then coming up woefully short).

Nintendo should go 3rd party tho right? /s

Nintendo going 3rd party is not for them, it's for consumers.

We're back to the Wii and DS days when Nintendo purposefully gives low estimates for their hardware shipments just to beat them, apparently.

Almost 3m Switch units is more than most people expected. Very good launch!

So it shipped 2.74m just in March? That's actually impressive and more than I thought! This means Switch is definitely well over 3m sold right now.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Tell that to Sega fans

It's not that conservative. If you include these 2.74m with their 10m estimate, you have 12.74m on the first year (well, excluding 1 month I guess something around 12m). That's some pretty impressive numbers! But I believe it will do even better and surpass their target too.

I think they're quite happy that they can now enjoy SEGA games on all kinds of devices and don't have to buy an outdated piece of plastic every 5 years that only plays a fraction of the games they want to play.

Oh, btw, Zelda sold 3.84m first month! Insane! Biggest Zelda launch ever!
