Forums - Gaming Discussion - Next January Will Be the End of Me; HBU?

So it just ocurred to me that I may actually be consumed by the video game industry and all trace of me removed from society outside of the mandatory utility bills for months come the close of this holiday season. Why? I plan to get the following things:

Scorpio: This reasoning mostly follows the same reasoning that I originally got the $600 PS3 when I already had the Xbox360: Back then I had no bluray player and knew there were a ton of good games that would be on the PS3, and while I'm not as sure about the quantity of exclusives on the Xbox1 (especially as I have a rather powerful gaming PC), I never actually GOT an Xbox1 so the Scorpio would provide both a 4k player and a new library going forward.

PS4 Pro: I still only have the original PS4 and don't see much reason to upgrade just yet, but I suspect there will be some awesome deals around the holiday season perhaps including a trade in, so I'll pick up one then primarily for the next item.

PSVR: I already have the Vive for which some fun games are soon coming out (looking forward to that Rick and Morty one), but I know the PSVR will probably have the most robust (if not most technically impressive) library due to Sony's funding, and the headset itself looks remarkably comfortable. From what I've read one of the primary motivators for making the PS4 Pro was the PSVR, so I'll be getting both this december.

Mario Odyssey: I got the Switch nearly two months ago so that's not an issue, but assuming Nintendo offers nothing else this holiday season (I suspect there's an announcement or two for that), at the very least I suspect Mario Odyssey will absorb an enormous amount of my time.

I've been planning for this already in regards to saving money, but it's only recently that I started trying to determine exactly how long it would take for me to get around to using all of these... I'm starting to think that I should perhaps put off the Scorpio a bit and wait for a better deal as, the way things currently stand, I honestly don't think I'd have any hope of getting through those before April, especially as I'm only just now getting around to my PS4 backlog and am about to be distracted by Mario Kart 8 D.

Gotta say, this hobby is almost becoming stressful with how many options there are; I don't know how people can complain about the state of gaming these days lol

Has anyone else taken a look at the end of the year to see what they might be interested in? Regardless of what I do, I know I'll drop off the face of the earth for a while; I'll post the occasional "I'm still alive" message.

Dude, don't fucking shock me like that. For a moment there I thought they delayed it to next year.
