This is the best confirmation I've seen so far that I don't need a Pro/Scorpio.

You don't even own a PS4 yet last I checked. Always had you down as a PS4 owner.

both are 1080p screenshots...

But one is resized from 4k (downsampled to 1080p), to show what 4k looks like, if showed on a 1080p screen.

The other is a normal 1080p, current xbox one shot.

It may be better to show of the benefits of 4k by using textures from this century.

Ladybugs show it better  (scorpio version clearly has much better textures than the normal one):

You can tell the bottom one is 4k downsampled right?

Aside from the hairs th eonly real difference I see is the bottom one uses that annoying blur effect all modern games use. It's the new bloom lighting.

I think most people here don't realize that this is a 1:1 comparison between a 1080p picture and a downsampled 4k picture. Scorpio has much much more power left to improve graphics in other ways.

Most big budget games are running in 900p on X1. The difference between those games with their original resolution and 4k will be extreme.

Dat difference, well worth the money.

How much ?

About three-fiddy.

Not really, I'd rather buy another GPU for my rig, to be honest.

If this what Scorpio will be about then it will definitely be a hard sale on E3 as it is not easy to see a noticeable difference.

Seeing this I regret saying that Scorpio will "win" over Switch.....

confirmed: scorpio doomed. The number of people who are gonna care about a slightly clearer picture for buying a whole new system are likely not a lot.

"lovingly detailed"

yeah... sure...

Why is no one saying anything about her eyes? They're HUGE.

I'm now filled with determination.

What you have to remember is that the Scorpio is going to be held back by the current HW, just as Pro is.  Games aren't being designed specifically for them.  Devs are not spending a ton of extra time and money on these mid-gen consoles.  They are using the same geometry, just rendering at a higher res and (sometimes) using slightly higher res textures and maybe a few extra effects.  We're not going to be seeing a big leap until next gen.    And if the Scorpio fails to sell well, which it will if they try to get $499 for it, most devs are probably just going to through a Pro port onto it, with maybe a slightly improved res and a couple higher FPS.

It's also not going to help Scorpio if they use screens like this to push the system, while Sony has a mid-gen console that is going to be, at most, $349 this holiday season.  If MS really is aiming for $499, that's already a $150 difference.  God help them if Sony actually does get out a $299 Pro Slim for the holidays.
