I can't see that happening, but stranger things have happened :P

It  coming to the switch will definitely look bad.

And I mean it both ways. (Gameplay-Graphics)

Fixed.

You know where it would look gorgeous? PC.

Sony going third party. B-E-L-I-V-E

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Would be pretty amazing if true (FF7 on a Nintendo platform). Pretty doubtful about it though..

Would be amazing if true, but very doubtful this is true

The other thing you have to consider is you can say "well it'll be a pain in the ass to really tune the game for the Switch" ... and maybe so, but once they have the engine working on Switch, they can make 3 games out of it as FF7R is 3-parts.

So that right there is a pretty strong reason to want to do it. That investment will likely pay off especially if Switch sells well, which all signs are pointing to.

This is also why IMO it'll be on XBox One (and by extension Scorpio). Because once they build the engine once for XBox, they can then easily make three games from it.

Too much money on the table to ignore. This is a business. S-E is not going to miss out on 6 potential versions of FF7 (three each for XBox + Switch) just because Sony asked them to. My guess is Sony wanted exclusivity but Square-Enix said hell no. FF7R is also a good way to get new young fans into the Final Fantasy brand, which Square-Enix needs, so they can't be looking off all those XBox and Switch owners. It's their main brand, it would be like Activision making COD only for PS4 ... it would be monumentally stupid on their part.

Well, it needs games. Why not FF7?

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Not sure about this, but I cannot dismiss rumors such as this.

Did anyone really expect someone like Cloud to make into Super Smash Bros.?

And with Square being very supportive so far with Nintendo with the Switch and with the 3DS, there is a possibility. When it comes to graphics, I'm not sure since I don't know how much FFVIIR is using in terms of power based on the footage we've seen so far.

And for those saying this may not come as a big deal in terms of advertising, this will be (if confirmed) the first FF mainline game on a Nintendo home console in years (not counting the DS remakes) and the first post-VI FF mainline game! Prior to the PlayStation, FF (and Square) was a big part of the early Nintendo consoles. Having a game with such prestige can really help Nintendo (at least when it comes to Japanese third-party support). Having Mario, Zelda, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Splatoon, ARMS, the potential for a new mainline Pokémon, Metroid, Smash Bros. etc., and with support like FF, DQXI, a new No More Heroes, Street Fighter, Bomberman, etc., this could really boost the Switch's library and go far beyond the lengths the Wii U's library (especially in the first two years) ever could.

Edit: Look at reactions to Cloud being in Smash Bros. So many people were surprised and shocked that this was possible.

Switch port of FFVIIR is very likely. I'm pretty sure it's running on UE4, which means it can be scaled down visually quite easily. Snake Pass showed how well UE4 scales on the switch. SE has already said they want in on the Switch, and after the Luminous engine went to sh*t, UE4 became their new big game engine. See: KH3.

Calling it now: By next E3, every Japanese game that isn't made by Sony will have a Switch version.

Gaming content for gamers, by gamers. It's just common sense.

I could see this too. Maybe not every game but a lot of them.

I think those early sales numbers are very eye-opening to the business suits that run these publishers also. They are going to start demanding Switch content.
