I don't see sony doing something like PS4 based laptop but if sony ever released a sony vaio series that could run ps4 exclusives i would definitely buy it, something similar with what they did to that xperia phone that could run psp games, man, this would e amazing.

I just don't see Sony being successful with a Windows or Android based PC. They have tried both OSs with close ties to their other divisions, but people are just not interested in Sony versions of the same device they can get elsewhere. I think the only way Sony can continue to grow is if they deliver 100% Sony products, and work with others to bring content and software to their platforms.

Don't think that would work for the mobile market as they would still need to create expensive phones but people who are used to android or just want a decent phone won't buy it. It might kill their sales of completely. Besides, we've seen how Windows having their own OS didn't help them. Without the Android store they will kill any hope in succeeding in that market.

The only company that can possibly get away with it is Nintendo.

The thing is they have failed with Android. I think the only way they ever gain back market share is to try to come in from a different angle. Build a new Phone that is focused on what they are good at, build phones around gaming. Leverage their IP's and 3rd party relations. They won't set the world on fire, but they sure as hell should move more than 15 million units world wide. Then they will be making much more profit as these devices will be powered through PSN and PS Store which will bring in multiple times more money past the point of sale. Building a Phone around PlayStation would drive up user engagement in their ecosystem massively, and help strengthen the relationship with their userbase.

Microsofts issue with Windows Phones is the lack of actual ties to real Windows and Xbox. They did not leverage any of their assets to help the thing succeed. That is why they have stepped away for a minute, and are doing things right. They will return with the Surface Phone, and it will support Xbox Play Anywhere, and have access to full blown Windows. They will be much more successful next time around.

I agree that Nintendo is in a great position for going mobile, but I don't think they are the only ones that could get away with it. In all reality I think Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are about equal in terms of how well they can do in mobile. I think that their are plenty of people that would give up their generic crap iOS and Android Phones for Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch Phones. We just need these guys to deliver.

Nice. Still far from its glory days, but at least we don't need to hear the bankruptcy stories anymore.

2018 is set to be their best year ever.

Nothing short of incredible. There was a time when I didn't even think a PS4 was financially possible much less launching in 2013 and being there most powerful console hardware on the market. Kudos, Sony.
