Forums - Gaming Discussion - The lack of continuous chatter about the PS4 Pro should teach Microsoft about scorpio

I'm not sure what you me by lack of continuos chatter. I see things about PS4 Pro patches, PS4 Pro vs PC, PS4 Pro specific features all the time. Scoprio is helping the Pro stay in the conversation, and both of them will become hotter and hotter over the next 2 years. The days of the stagnant console generations are over, and I could not be happier.

I completely agree with you about the importance of software, and that has always been the reason I have been a console gamer first and foremost. The exclusives from all three companies are so far ahead of what is offered by 3rd parties. This is why I have always had all platforms. However, due to the lack of advances in hardware for up to 8 years at a time, I have always ended up building a computer or 2 during each gen, because 3rd party titles start to creep closer and closer to the 1st party offerings as the generation progressed, and eventually pass them graphically.

Now thanks to Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo finally starting to take advantage of die shrinks for more power I can stick to my platforms of choice instead of having to invest in PC, which I honestly have no interest in. I am 100% behind Scorpio and PS4 Pro, and I can not wait for the next iteration of Switch on Tegra 2. At this point I don't know whether I am going to buy every upgrade and trade in the old units, or by all the PlayStations, and then just grab a new Xbox or Nintendo platform at major intervaults. The nice thing is, this is now my choice to make.

Honestly, I think you are jumping the gun on what appears to you to be a lack of PS4 Pro talk. Come E3 I think you will see the buzz ramp up quite a bit. Games coming out the rest of the year are going to be taking even more advantage of Pro, and that is going to really start getting people buzzing. Stuff like Gran Turismo, God of War, Last of Us Part II, Farpoint, Days Gone, Detroit, and many others are going to make a huge push for the Pro, and with 4K prices cheaper than ever, and HDR making the difference day and night, people are going to be ready to jump into 4K and get a Pro or Scorpio this holiday.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Gen 9 started March 3rd.

What, March 3rd 2020?

Don't try to say that the Switch is Next gen.  Maybe as the next gen for Nintendo hendhelds.  It is last gen as a console.

2017. 3DS started gen 8, DS started gen 7, Dreamcast started gen 6... get the point?

Also, Wii was nothing more than a GC on steroids. It's still part of gen 7.

not to get completly off track, but in my opinion, handhelds are handhelds and consoles are consoles. generations for them don't overlap.  If they did, you better start adding iphones and tablets.

It is near the end of the end....

I'm the only person I know who has a PS4 Pro but I absolutely love it. But, I'm also the only person I know who has a 4K TV. See… When you have to buy a new TV to go with your new console that's going to create a problem. Imagine if the Scorpio is $500 and if you want to get one you have to buy a new 4K TV as well. That's up to $900 just to play a new console. I got my Pro only because I was able to supplement the cost with a Walmart discount and selling my PS4 for $200 to an Xbox fan who wanted to jump on PS4 train.

The lack of Pro chatter is because the Pro failed to achieve what it wanted to be. Still at this point i dont know what it is. Is it a 4k machine or a 1080 machine. I look at the Pro as a console with no identity. Where as the Scorpio is a pure 4k machine and if done right it will have a good audience. Besides its not meant to outsell the PS4 or X1S.
I wouldn't be talking about lack of Exclusives until after E3.

If you wish to purchase the console before upgrading your TV, however, Project Scorpio should provide a raft of benefits even on older HD sets. The fact that Project Scorpio will be a possible option for people who don't want to upgrade their TVs should be good news for lots of people, helping the console reach a potentially wider audience than it would have as a pure 4K machine.

Well I am interested in Project Scorpio and I already bought my 4K tv. Why would I wait to buy it the same time I buy the console?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Yeah but I just don't see the point of already owning an Xbox One, and then buying a Scorpio just to sit there and play upscaled 1080p on a 1080p set. You might as well go all in with her going in the first place.

Heck, that's why did it and that's how some people are going to do it. I'm just saying that everyone has a 4K TV right now. 4K programming isn't ithat widespread and 4K gaming is becoming a new thing.
