Forums - Sales Discussion - Predict Switch's First Year Sales

Hmmm, how did I miss this thread. I'm sure I put some numbers in a separate thread at some point.

Take my prediction knowing that it was given on 10/30/2017 when Switch was proven success and Nintendo up'd their supply statements once since launch.

I bet that they'll have a solid Q4 and reach 13MM by 3/31/18.

To put this into perspective, Wii sold ~18MM in its "first year", but that year included 2 holiday time periods since it launched in November. Switch will only have had one.

It looks like Switch can outship Wii U in under 1 year, Gamecube in 1.5 years and N64 in 2 years.

March 2017, 2.74m
June 2017, 4.70m
Sept 2017, 7.63m
Dec 2017, 14m (pass Wii U)
March 2018, 16.74m
June 2018-19m
Sept 2018-22m (pass GC)
Dec 2018-30m
March 2019-33m (pass N64)

2018 Gonna be a >20 million year. No more stock problem + pokémon = BOOM.

March 2017 - 2.74m
June 2017 - 4.70m
Sep 2017 - 7.63m

PS4 - 14,238,195
DS - 9,290,236
PSP - 8,069,020
XOne - 7,768,163
PS3 - 6,004,047

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

14.5M

Nintendo should really fix the endless shortages in Japan by now, 10 months on end has to be frustrating for people over there.

I just imagine how much higher this year could have been for Nintendo Switch, if Nintendo really had been able to expand production faster.

If they follow through with the 25-30 million production plan for Nintendo Switch next year, I think that will be a great boon for the platform install base and really inspire developers even more so.

1. No not 1 million. Just 1. A single Switch sold and it's all mine!

Ok fine, 16.7 million by march 3rd.

I think it will be around 15.4 millions. I predicted 13.6 back in March but if it ends 2017 with around 13 millions, there is no way it's not selling 2 millions in 2 months. I don't think we will see the Switch get under 200k really often anymore with the augmentation of the production so Japan and the US won't let the Switch get under that mark.

Already 11.1 million now dude lol!

Approximately 11,111,111 copies.

You're a fucking retarded Nintendo hater.

14.86 million shipped as of December 31st, 2 months to clear that and ship a little more...

Shall we pop the champagne for the new champion or too early still???
