Forget the trade-in system, just sell directly on Amazon. They have a pretty nice system in place, I've used it to sell a ton of my old games and have probably made somewhere in the ballpark of a couple grand just pawning old games and consoles.

How long do you usually have to wait before someone buys especially for niche stuff? I'd go through the effort if I was selling my whole gaming collection, but it's just a few games some of which Amazon's price is basically the same as what I'd ideally sell them for anyway.

It depends how niche we're talking. If you have one of the lower prices out of all the listings, you can still move them relatively quickly even for more obscure games. But it's true, a lot of times people just aren't looking at particular games and your item just might not get many looks. I've had games that I've sold minutes after posting, even at a higher price, and I'd also had some more obsure ones selling at a low price that I've sat on for a year before selling.

Without having ratings to your name, you might have to sell them pretty cheap, maybe even below Amazon warehouse prices at times, though even with this and the small fee Amazon takes, it's usually still worth it, especially over Gamestop or something like that. They also throw you a few bucks to cover shipping costs so that helps ofset some of the fee.
