Wow at the people discounting X1 because of Japan. PS4 had it covered. This game is directed to a worlwide audience.

From the looks of things it will implement Dark Soul gameplay. "Hard action RPG The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals Code Vein, a new “dungeon exploration-type, hard action RPG” from Bandai Namco developed by the team behind God Eater."

See the bold part?

PS4/XB1 is more likely than PS4/Switch.

Looks awesome, JRPGs looking better and better.

And when you think RPG.. you think xbox one?

It may be on all three for all we know. If I had to only choose two though? I'd choose switch over xbox one.

I mean, it's not like there'd be a huge difference between X1/Switch sales. X1 has the advantage of being much easier to port over.

When I think about RPG I think PS4. The key words their is major home consoles. It's laughable that suddenly Xbone is irrelevant now and Switch has more relevance around the world. Xbone still has the advantage of userbase than switch. It could still be release to Switch yes and I never said that it won't come. I just said that PS4/Switch is unlikely more than PS4/XB1. Switch is doing great yes but the Userbase is still nowhere near XB1 WW. Switch also has yet to prove it can sell 3rd party games.

And we are talking about Namco here and the  Hard acton RPG. This could mean they are targetting the Dark Soul fans with this game.

This wording makes PS4 more or less a given, Switch and/or XB1 a possibility and Vita and PC very unlikely.

Can I hold that to you for the time being?. Bamco have already released multiple titles on Steam so far, it makes sense to carry on selling to that store than to suddenly stop selling to said store now.

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

My replies are in bold.

To be fair as far as RPG goes - Xbox was made irrelevant way before the switch showed up.

It seems you are ignoring the "Hard part ARPG" part. RPGs like Tales of are irrelevant here so XB1 is relevant with this type of games.

The switch has a chance to get the crowd because of it being portable (although I do agree that "major home console" most likely excludes the switch).

What Country Japan? I am specifically talking about WW. We all know in the west that home console is the thing.

As far as Japan and RPGS goes, the xbox is just worse than the ps4. It will get the "I don't have a ps4" crowd. Which if you are wanting an RPG - why would you NOT have a ps4?

That's why you have the PS4 that can cover all bases. It can sell well in Japan and could sell well WW along with XB1. Do you think PS4/Switch combo will have enough userbase compare to PS4/XB1?

Where as switch can get the "I want to play this on the go" crowd that Playstation no longer has.

If you are talking about Japan, then yes.

The only reason to think it will come to XB1 is the "major home console" which at this point I'm wondering if that wasn't just bad translation. The argument

If Namco is targetting worldwide with this Hard ARPG. It means they are trying to Target the Dark Soul fans which I recall also sold well on XB1.

"It runs on UE4, is Japanese, coming out after the Switch has set fire to the Japanese market, will have a less intensive anime styled art direction, and is made by a team that specialized in handheld games. I would be greatly surprised if this game doesn't make it to the Switch." I think is more compelling than that.

Just because it is running in U4 it doesn't mean it will be on Switch. Anyway, I am not arguing that it will not come to Switch. I am arguing that people discounting XB1 over Switch.

Agreed. Namco is already releasing their Souls series on Xbox whre it sells pretty well, I see no reason why they won't release this on Xbox too, considering they've been implying it's aimed at a similar audience.

Also, I just remembered that when Phil Spencer went to Japan the last time to talk to Japanese devs, he mentioned that he stopped at Namco Bandai and that he saw a new JRPG while he was in Japan, I have a feeling that was this game. He most likely convinced them to release it on XB1 while he was there.

The Soul series is designed to appeal to western taste but with Japanese game design. Code Vein is "no secrets" anime based Japanese game. Why use Soul series a metric and not the fact that this team's or ANY of Bamco's anime games arrived on XBOX?

Code Vein is definitely anime styled, but it's definitely a darker game and they've stated it's going to be a very difficult action RPG. That's why the Souls comparison is being used.
