Should Nintendo buy back Banjo and Conker from Microsoft and Rare?

Hmm use the money to make something else. I think MS will be using those games very soon.

Banjo is kinda dead.

Why?

Because I don't recall the Mario team ever touching Banjo-Kazooie.

I know. What I meant was that Nintendo should let the Mario team try to do a BK game like the couple ones in the N64. No need to do anything new. Just the third game similar to Kazooie and Tooie.

Banjo can probably be saved, but nobody cares about Conker.

That said, Microsoft wont sell. Looking at the recent hype behind Yooka Laylee, Crash Bandicoot and Sonic Mania, they're probably looking into pushing Banjo again. There's a reasonable audience for that classic style platformer and if Phil Spencer is a clever man, he wants a piece of that pie.

No point really, if Nintendo wants to make a similar game, just make a new IP completely or make DK 3D with similar elements :p

No offense to Microsoft, but they need the ips anyway they can get them. Nintendo has already made a new IP with arms and splatoon and arms (since last gen and this gen). If Nintendo needed Rares library they would've bought them outright long ago. Rares legacy has been long since destroyed.

I wish.

MS should just allow their games on Switch IMO in certain cases.

Banjo on Switch isn't going to take away from XBox sales any, I mean Minecraft is on Switch.

MS should license at least the older Rare titles so Nintendo can use them on Virtual Console and N64 Mini.

I'd rather have them make new IPs with that money

You realize Nintendo is sitting on like 5-10 billion dollars in pure cash, right?

That isn't counting money invested in current game development or studios. They could easily buy these ips and it wouldn't impact other games development, instead it would add to their exclusive ip.

Minecraft is in a different boat. MS spent 2.5b to own Minecraft. The only reason i believe they are releasing Minecraft on multiple platforms is to make there money back on the IP. Once its done i can garentee future releases will remain Xbox and Windows 10.

As for releasing Banjo on Switch. MS would rather you buy an Xbox.
