Also Capcom dun fucked up not having Monster Hunter XX for Switch either. They could have sold an easy 300-400k extra with a Switch version if not more. Just leaving money on the table for no reason.

I am assuming the worst case scenario. Though, what other games are there? I doubt people are just magically picking up the Koei Tecmo re-releases, and D5 Complete isn't the kind of game to light even the back 30 on fire.

Also, last week was the week of the Nintendo Direct, so that may have had an impact as well.

Dragon Quest Heroes I+II and Puyo Puyo Tetris have done decently.

Oh, forgot about Puyo Puyo Tetris for some reason. I guess that including the back thirty would fill maybe 7.5k sales, with digital purchases filling the rest.

My original post is good quote-bait, so I'll leave it unedited.

HD development of large games is expensive, might be not worth it.

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

PS4 needs some games! Still up 130k YoY already though, so that's good

Nice Switch numbers again, they are going to have stock issues again after MK8 Deluxe comes out I bet

Taking a 3DS game and ramping it up in resolution I doubt is all that expensive. The Wii U had a HD MH up-port for its launch.

In general I think the Japanese dev community fucked up by not taking the Switch seriously. They're going to miss a big window now where they could have cashed in with a lack of games to compete against. They're all probably scrambling now to get more content for the system, but it's probably going to take them 6-12 months to get their shit together.

The Switch actually jumped 4k units up this week with no new releases. Supply and demand stuff probably, which I expect to be stabalized by now, but what do I know? It'd be pretty impressive if it keeps above 40k again next week.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

The upgrade in resolution is massive, though. If it was originally planned for 3DS, textures and models might not be good enough. We don't know how profitable the wiiu monsterhunter titles were.

I'd bet that the next iteration is coming straight to switch.

Mario Kart is fairly imminent and Japan was one of the least favorable markets for the Wii U overall so there's lots of people there who have not played MK8.

So I wouldn't expect a slow down in Japan, if sales are down next week it's because Nintendo is holding back stock for Mario Kart 8 week and Golden Week (big Japanese holiday period).

Japan = Switch country.

Look it's already spanking the PS4 there like nobody's business.

Square-Enix is making a mistake by not having DQXI for Switch with the other two versions, especially this summer with Splatoon 2 coming.

Actually releasing DQXI in same time when Splatoon 2 arrives on Switch wouldnt be smartest thing, maybe its better to release DQ11 later, after Splatoon 2 and when instal base of Switch is bigger.

Man Switch is killing it in Japan!
