Remakes / remasters / deluxe versions usually get lower scores, because reviewers find improvement and originality important.

More important than the actual game, so much so that they would paint the blatantly false impression of MK8D being inferior? Yep, silly!

I think most of us know what to expect, seeing as how it's a 2 year old game basically at this point. Yeah Battle Mode is a neat addition though.
