Splatoon 2 is above Dragon Quest XI for PS4 on COMG's pre-order charts already and is even starting to close on the 3DS version of DQXI. 

It's coming for you Japan. Hold onto your butts. 

Also: I think S-E is making a big mistake not having DQXI for Switch with the other versions. They could have cashed in on that Splatoon 2 craze.

Nintendo really knows how to cater to Japan in the early phases with the Switch, unlike Sony with the PS4 and Nintendo with the Wii U.

Imagine if Splatoon had been an early launch for Wii U.

You know, people keep saying this that DQXI should have come on the Switch at the same time as the other systems. Problem here is that even though SE probably got the dev kits very early, DQXI was probably already a long way into development. It would be unfair to both the devs working on it and gamers waiting for if SE rushed the game on the Switch or delayed the game until it could launch. They shouldn't split dev time like that. It was even a struggle for the BotW team. 

Besides, I wonder how the Switch version is going to be. I imagine it is going to look like the PS4 docked and the 3DS undocked. though reasonably it would just look like the PS4.

I think Splatoon has taken off big with Japanese teenagers. Dragon Quest's fanbase is all old farts these days.

I love Splatoon. But don't underestimate DQ.

COMG consistently underestimates PS4 quite heavliy (FFXV had 470 points but a 690K launch). In addition to this, becuase COMG has opened Splatoon 2 pre-orders early, it's likely over-represented since people can't get pre-order elsewhere (like Amazon Japan, for example).
