I'm okay with just a port of smash 4 for the Switch, maybe with 1 or 2 new characters. Poor Sakurai needs to rest for now.
Dance my pretties!

No. Smash 4 is almost unbeatable in terms of content. Aside from a propper Story Mode (which I have the feeling they might add it), Nintendo is going to have to put a lot of efford to make a better Smash. Let Sakurai rest for a couple of years and let him go back to the series rested and with new ideas. Smash 4 Deluxe is enough.
My God no! Give Sakurai a break! Be grateful enough for even getting an enhanced port of the Wii U version.
Yes! Make a new Smash. Smash 4 was the worst Smash ever made. Unless you are constantly doing multiplayer the game is super boring. I want a proper Adventure Mode and SSE type of mode for Smash 5.
O.K. If Nintendo is going to make a totally new Smash for Switch it needs to have an entirely new mechanic.
And that mechanic will be.....
TAG TEAM COMBAT where you SWITCH between two fighters.
Yes, it will be awesome.
Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

Maybe. But way later in the life of the Switch. Maybe like, Holiday 2019 or something.
Smash 4 was like a rich cheesecake. So many characters. So many stages. Such good online play (in general). So many challenges.
I played over 400 hours. I'm satiated for awhile.
I honestly think that the Switch can go without Smash 5 (at the cost of Somecallmejohnny and friends' happiness and hype). Smash 4 Deluxe + a story mode would be just fine in my view.
Poor Sakurai needs a break. The guy was working on the game while his arm was in a sling

Let him have his rest, he has earned it.

Yes. There's plenty of new characters they could add, a crap ton more they could do with the presentation with the more capable Switch and without the burden of a 3DS version, and the singleplayer options are STILL wanting after 4 entries.
New character options that I can think of include:
1st/2nd party: Isaac (Golden Sun), Elma (Xenoblade Chronicles X), Fiora (Xenoblade Chronicles), Inkling Boy/Girl (Splatoon), Spring Man or Ribbon Girl (ARMS), King K Rool, Waluigi, Riddley, and that's just the start of the list.
3rd party: keep Pac-Man, Mega Man, Sonic, and Cloud. Possible Additions: Crono (Chrono Trigger), Rayman, Shantae, and again, could name more but I put more thought into the 1st/2nd party ones. Crono would be a great addition though.
There's still much they could do. People who say the series shouldn't/can't go past 4 are being silly, imo.
