Will probably get a Scorpio version. The ps4 pro got a version of BF1.
As for the switch can't see that working out well.

Exactly, but it have anything on the terms of those games listed? No. There are more ways to have 3rd party support other than games like this years next Call of Duty rehash.

As for your last point, look at PS2 numbers compared to PS3, far from what the predecessor achieved but by no means a failure with bad sales and and poor revenue made. PS2 and DS sales are an unrealistic target, not every product is ever gonna reach those numbers, but is that needed for a sucessful product? No.

I have to disagree with you about the ps comparison, the 2 base was split between 360 and 3.... Microsoft did their absolute best to turn the ps2 users to 360...

and i believe 3ds sales are a result of the rise of the tablet market... which imo will hurt the switch hardcore

TBH Destiny can go die for all I care,

Was sick of seeing three releases of the first game and having to rebuy.

Why couldn't they just release the addons on disc? like the old days and call it expansions.

I mean I didn't see any of these games on 3DS and it was very successful and just because it didn't have Star Wars Battlefront, didn't mean it have any shortage of 3rd party support either.

I think that is a result of a crowded consumer gadgets space. consoles in the 7th generation and earlier did not have to compete with smartphones, tablets, wearables, media streamers etc. Honestly looking at last gen, all three home consoles did quite well, and handhelds performed also exceptionally well. Fast forward now and we really only have PS4 being a strong performer (and even so it is still lagging behind Wii sales, when looking at the sales gap data; though there is no doubt in my mind PS4 will end up seeling more because it will have much longer legs than Wii, which just died after 2011; wish I had some data comparing it to PS2). XOne is about to be overtaken by 360 looking at the sales gap data (the One is only slightly ahead now), and the Vita is far behind PSP. The 3DS has not done nearly as well as DS, but then again considering everything else I mentioned it has not really done poorly either. I suspect the Switch will eventually outsell 3DS line's life times sales (although not by much), largely because it is a much more viable long-term platform than the 3DS was (I also believe Nintendo will create a cheaper more portable version of the Switch down the line, which ought to help it as well).

DESTINY 2(Coming of what is considered the 2nd biggest franchise this gen)

STAR WARS BATTLE FRONT 2(Millions guaranteed as it launches near the movie)

RED DEAD REDEMPTION (the country GTA)

those three are likely going to sell well over 10 million units..... and will release on PS4/xbone/pc

no switch announcements...... does this bold well for its future? I think not....

You know, I don't think anyone really cares if the third party blockbusters aren't coming on Switch. If I want to play the games on the OP I can get PS4 to do that. Personally, I'd prefer Snipperclips over the industry blockbusters.

Look, the AAA budget games industry in in dire straits. There are fewer and fewer games that actually pay out, and the less games they're making, the less customers you'll have. Unless the industry can expand to China and India while making profit, I just can't see how they'll survive the next decade.

Im trying to say that if gets the games I listed then It shouldn't need to worry about these 3 or any blockbuster 3rd party games, and that would be enough for the Switch to be farrrrrrrr from Wii U 2.0

Well your list of 1st party games are strong and is what makes Nintendo, but it's hard to say really because the Wii U did get a MH, 3 Zelda games, Splatoon, Mario Kart, Pokken (I know its not a real Pokemon game but its something Pokemon) and Smash, and it was only able to sell around 14M units.

Theres probably a couple reason because of that:

- Wii U was a Home Console. While the Switch is a Hybrid

- 3DS was far from being dead. While it may be in 2018.

- The Switch Marketing is soooo much better than the Wii U.

This is just me thinking that the Switch will be FAR from a Wii U, and closer or maybe better than the 3DS (in terms of sales).

Nintendo hasn't competed in this space for 15 years. Why do people continue to be surprised by this?

Battlefront and Destiny were bad games. Battlefront especially. I'm not concerned that they're not coming out for Switch.

Wii U. Worldwide, that system sold just over 3 million units by the end of 2012

wii u sold over 3 million in 1 month! great launch.
but then went on to becoming the lowest selling console of all time.

So the switch numbers are similar.

but because of switch hype i said 20-25million units and in 5 years i'll point to this thread and say see i was right!

Let's just say that Switch seems to have more or as many interesting/good games already at this point of it's life that Wii U had in it's entire lifetime.

I hope the Switch will be far from the Wii U.  If Nintendo treats it more like a handheld then it can definitely succeed like the 3DS.

The only gripe some may have with it is that it's "suppose" to be a home console first (according to Nintendo) yet not getting the 3rd party home console support that everybody expects.

Yes Switch will fail just like DS,Wii and 3DS who didn't have those big western AAA games. I guess OP forgot Dragon Quest XI is AAA and Switch just got the highest rated game this gen. Switch according to Wikipedia has 176 games either out or coming to it. Yes yes Nintendo is DOOOOOOMED!
