Persona 5

Final Fantasy 15
Yakuza Zero & Y6
Ni-Oh
Nier Automata
Star Wars Battlefront II
Red Dead Redemption 2

Tekken 7

Destiny 2

Mass Effect Andromeda

Darksiders III
Death Stranding

Ni No Kuni 2

Next GTA, Far Cry ect

all AAA-Games and Blockbuster coming for PS4, but none for Switch. Many other "important" Games like Call of Duty, next Shadow of Mordor and Battlefield ect too. It say everything. for the Switch are 90 % Minigames the future, i think. for other console(s) big and beautiful Games-Support by Publisher. my forecast: A stronger Switch-Hardware coming 2018 with better graphic, details & features ! its the only chance for nintendo, for more big games-support.

Destiny 2 is not a huge loss in terms of what the overall gaming audience is into, its certainly not a Call of Duty level game at this point.

Call of Duty I wouldn't be so sure won't come to the Switch.  I don't think that's a certain thing at this point.

Red Dead is unfortunate... but its Rockstar and a pretty adult game that will likely be graphically pushing boundaries. That one is probably the biggest loss but also the most obvious.

I do want to point this out- the Switch just came out a few months ago. A lot of these games were heavy in development and maybe even DONE (essentially) before the Switch came out. Generally a big new game is not going to be developed for an unknown factor console, particularly after the Wii U trainwreck.

I'd say if the Switch sells well through this year then 2018 would be a better year to determine if the systems going to get third parties on board. We currently don't know if more big 3rd party stuff will be in 2017, but the system is just too new to really have expected a big jump in from developers. Again, after the Wii U why would anyone be lining up for a hybrid dangerous concept.

if the Switch gets none of the big EA or Activision stuff in 2018 then I'd say it would be fair at that point to start suggesting that Nintendo had failed to get them on board again. Wayyyy too fucking early now though to begin speculating

Why would i want these "3rd party blockbusters" when i can play the game of the year on my Switch ;)

Problem is, not everybody is like that. If it doesn't have CoD Battlefield Destiny or whatever there's a big group of people that won't buy the system. I think that the Switch will sell decent (better than wii u at least) and not everybody is a huge fan of zelda or other games that nintendo has to offer that 3rd parties do.

Hence they can go buy a PS4 or Xbox One.

I don't understand why fans of those consoles think Nintendo has to comform to their video game ideologies.  You don't see Nintendo fans demanding Sony and MS cater more to them.

"Microsoft is making another mistake by not giving me Nintendo-like games.  I guess they don't want my money.  They can't even make the console portable.  Bad decisions.  I bet it doesn't even sell have as much as the competition."

See how that sounds when you look at it from the other perspective?

Well I love all 3 and have respect for all 3 and I have all 3 (until the switch came out :P don't have the money for that rn) but none of them are without flaw. MS does stupid stuff Nintendo does stupid stuff and so does Sony. I was just saying with 3rd party it's more likely to sell more. I wasn't hating at all or saying they should confrom to my idelogies lol.

And for the bolded part.. Where did I even say they don't want my money or that they're making bad decisions? and where did I say it's not gonnna sell even half of what the others do? I said I think it'll sell decent (better than wii u) but not anything outstanding like wii. Is there a problem with thinking that? It doesn't even have all to do with 3rd party just the way the market has changed and stuff. but i'm not much for fighting so whatever idc

Like how some are in a wait-and-see approach after seeing the initial sales records of the Switch so far, we should also have a wait-and-see approach with the 3rd party support since it's been only 2 months since the Switch came out. Most of the 3rd party games that have been mentioned here are already years into development and we have no clue exactly when the devs got the dev kits or what not to get an idea whether or not they'll be able to port to the Switch. The exception is DQXI from what I know.

I dont recall the PS3 or X360 failing because it lacked these IPs.

WiiU on the other hand...

3DS on the other hand...

... Is being outsold more than 2:1 by PS4 (which also lacks those first party IP) and only maintains a lead because of a headstart.

Did you really include 1-2 Switch in that? That's reaching pretty far.

I think there's something else going on. Lego City port was also finished for years before it came to Switch and other consoles, releasing all at the same time. But for some reason, Skyrim, Rayman Legends, Street Fighter II, Xenoverse 2 and Dragon Quest X releases are months/seasons away while they were finished at Switch launch. Skyrim is even a 2011 game. Street Fighter is a 2D remake of a SNES game. I think Nintendo screwed up by not giving so many developers any information about the Switch way before release. As a consequence there will be enormous droughts in 2017 and these droughts will be filled up with full-priced downgraded ports and occasionally an original Nintendo game.

Does this bold well for their futures?

No. Those actually failed for their lack Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Play, Twilight Princess, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy.
