Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Exclusive Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Gets Lots of Nostalgic 1080p Screenshots

It looks great! Remember everyone though, they also uncompressed the voice acting, so that'll sound better too!

This should end up on PC eventually, so i'm going to sit it out until then. 4k PS2 games is where the real action is at

I played this game like crazy when I was around 20, I think.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Will it be 4k60 like KH1 & 2?

KH1.5+2.5 runs at 4K 60fps on PS4 Pro...

It got a great critic reception, but I agree, it's criminally forgotten/left away by most fans.

I've actually never played this one.  I had moved into WoW at that point, making it the first (non-MMO) Final Fantasy that I missed since I bought FF6.  I've always regretted that.

Yeah i know, i watched DF's analysis of KH and i own a Pro. I'm not being serious when i say i'm going to wait to play a PS2 game in 4k :p Even ignoring the Pro, even my advocation for image quality doesn't extend that far for stuff like this. I will buy it on PC because it's my preferred place to play, but that wait is justified primarily by my huge backlog rather than a desire to unleash my PC's power upon the glory of a PS2 remaster. I find the latter scenario far more entertaining though.

I'm unaware of what this game is, so its a remaster, an old game? More information would be helpful.

So FFXII comes out, and in japan people arnt happy, the west gets it and notices the same issues the japanese markets did.

What happends? naturally FFXII gets a better version that fix loads of issues, only.... it never released in the west.

This is the first time you ll get to play FFXII the right way (unless you played a fan translation of the japanese game).

Basically:

+Trail mode (your characters vs 100's of levels fighting off monsters)

+New Licenseing board (theres now job classes, each with unique licenseing boards, so you pick a job class for each character)

+controllable guest / espers,  L1 button Speed boost (game speeds up when you hold L1, saveing you time), Many more gambits and slots (more customisable A.I for your characters), Many Item balances and new items, New enemies (and bosses), they fix placement of certain enemies and their drops, they changed around some "magicks" for the licenseing boards to make more sense with the job system, finding old magic scrolls in chests ect (instead of automatically getting them), new weapons & weapon effects + armors & acessories,.... list goes on and on.

Basically its a much improved version of FF12.... that the west never got to play.

Now we re getting it, with better graphics :)

Hardly a revelation.

Exactly the same thing happened already with FFX/2

Both came out in Japan, had tweaked western release, then director's cut style re-releases in Japan

Change your avatar to JRPGfan? Hardly.

Looking forward to this and replaying one of the better FF games with new gambit boards. At this rate I'll never buy FF15.

Hmm, pie.
