Are those real questions?? Perceived value can be shown that it is still mostly sold out a month and a half after launch. Obviously people think it is well worth the $300 price tag. If it's perceived value wasn't at least $300 then it wouldn't have been anywhere near Nintendo's best launch ever. And in what way isn't it the pefect second console? ps4 and xbone are like clones of each other, except that ps4 has more exclusives. So if you already have one of them, the best second console is obviously the thing that offers something different, which is the Switch. Not sure why you are questioning two very clear cut and dry statements that poster said. |
Yes, the people who couldn't wait to own one think it's worth the price. Who would have thunk it? The people who bought a ps3 when it launched and broke all sorts of records also thought it was worth it.
What about the non-die hard fans, i.e. people who actually care about the price? That will be shown after the first few months in which mostly loyal fans buy them. So, no. A month and a half is by no means enough to draw that conclusion. As fot Ninty's best launch ever, you do realize that that there were more Switch consoles available than wii consoles at launch, right? How could wii beat it with fewer available systems?
Xbone and ps4 are nothing like clones. People tend to call them that for the simple fact that they share a great number of games, i.e. they get proper 3rd party support. The horror, I know...
Something different, doesn't mean something good or something "perfect" as you two call it. Plenty (not gonna say most, since I don't have any sources to back up such a claim) of ps4 owners have zero interest in nintendo ips so switch is the furthest thing from a perfect second console. It's like saying, you like basketball so more basketball won't offer something new so volleyball is a perfect second option. No, more basketball (and it the case of xbox and ps, as I said the exclusives are still very different) could be a better second option since I (and others) have zero interest in volleyball.
