Forums - Microsoft Discussion - What do you think will be the top game for Microsoft at E3?

With MS track record of games..something Halo or Forza is my best guess.

Forza because of Porsche.  Seriously though no matter what they reveal, it is too late this gen, they should have made scorpio next gen rather than an  upgrade.

I dont think a scorpio has anything to do with it. To beat Sony you must have games, not hardware upgrades. The original XBox had better graphics than the PS2 and still lost.

I don't know how I feel about people not wanting certain big franchises at E3. I mean, if Nintendo announced a new Zelda, I'd do a backflip! If it's a series I like to play, I'd be happy for a new (possibly improved) entry.

I'm hoping people are underestimating M$, though. Aside from a new entry from the "Big Three", I'm hoping they show off something new from Rare and some great VR stuff. They have new hardware coming out this year so I expect good software to take advantage. Should be a good show.

Microsoft set the low standard to which people underestimate them. Sony and Nintendo have been spoiling people with exclusives for decades now to which it has become a traditional expectation. Once the preliminary hardware is shown with the launch games its up to the audience to decide primarily who wins. I hope they have something though. This isnt the first generation that people have been complaining. People complain about Microsoft with exclusives like they complain about Nintendo with third party (Both brands have what the other lacks). We want all brands to have the proper footing so they can truly fight for supremacy the right way. This way the gamers win. Halo 3 remastered would make me happy. Thats all I need from Microsoft at E3. I dont have to raise my standard with them to be happy. Its the other companies I raise my expectations for because they actually push them. Im going to play state of decay, but I know right now I am not going to be impressed by the graphics. I hear its good though, so i'll check that out.

I don't even know if MS have any major studios whose projects aren't known.

Any big surprises would have to be bought from a third party

Good point. Im sure Microsoft paid for rights to the next Tomb Raider as well. LOL  Doesnt matter to me, im still play it, but I have to admit its hella annoying.

Thing is people don't follow the Xbox news:

During a recent IGN podcast, Xbox boss Phil Spencer talked about some hot topics, including games. He said that there won’t be any Gears or Halo announcements at E3 2017, so don’t expect to hear anything on them soon.

Somehow I dont believe it, because an E3 without those two IP's is pretty almost suicide. They better have something to replace it with then. Either they managed to nab a huge third party IP that was mid development or they paid for timed exclusivity of another third party.

FABLE.

im a dreamer.

LOL If they did, I hope they turn the franchise into a real RPG instead of RPG-lite. Molyneux lied through his teeth about Fable was going to be.

I find it hard not to believe him especially a few months before E3. Also the suicide part is a bit lame. Halo 6 announcement will not have a huge postive effect for this year anyway because we all are sure it will not release this year anyway. In fact it makes me look more forward to E3.   The best E3's are the ones you don't know what to expect and I want to be surprised.

Well....what better way to be surprised than when your expectations are low? This way you cannot be overly disappointed, but at the same time are open to the excitement of something great blowing you away. Either way, both of us are open to the element of surprise. This is why I said speculation is welcomed here, because Microsoft isnt saying much.
