Sounds like a hassle to buy an expensive LT, keep it in great shape for 20 years and make a few hundred bucks maybe. |
For collectors it's no hassle whatsoever, it's something to be proud of. Unless they become hardup for money or lose all interest in video games they probably wouldn't even sell them when value skyrockets, it's more about having something special as part of your collection. Have you never collected anything?
Nintendo's going to go balls to the walls with collector's editions in the future too, lol.

I do collect games, but never opening them is another story. I have some sealed games, but theres a reason for it. If you open a game, you still own the game.

Nope,
http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20170413006259/en/Nintendo-Switch-Fastest-Selling-Video-Game-System-Nintendo
"The Nintendo Switch system sold more than 906,000 units in March, according to the NPD Group, which tracks video game sales in the United States."
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game sold over 1.3 million units*. That total includes more than 925,000 units sold for Nintendo Switch and nearly 460,000 units sold for the Wii U console. That means that Nintendo sold more of this game for Nintendo Switch than it sold Nintendo Switch systems, for an attach rate of more than 100 percent. This may be attributed to people who purchased both a limited edition of the game to collect and a second version to play."

That reminds me of my uncle, he said that when he was a kid he saved up money to buy an NES, he gave it to his dad for safekeeping. Of course, when he had enough, he asked his dad for the money so he could go get it...His dad told him to shut the fuck up and forget about the money. He probably used it to buy pot.
Wow. It actually makes sense now that I think about it. I mean the Switch IS very hard to find. So, whoever had the money to buy it must settle for something!
