Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump remembers his dessert, forgets who he bombed

Trump can do what he wants as President. He is a billionaire and he is untouchable. Trump is above the law.

So we can now deflect criticism by saying "others do it, why can't I"?

I honestly don't see the logic behind your thinking. I criticize Trump similar to how I criticized Obama. If Hillary was the president, I'd criticize her like anyone else. However, she isn't, so I am going to focus on Trump instead

In this particular instance people call Trump guilty of being a man. That's taking political correctness to the extreme.

In Germany there was a politician who told a female journalist that she would do a good job at filling out a Dirndl (a dress that women commonly wear at Oktoberfest in Munich) and that caused an outrage. It was a compliment, but apparently it's not acceptable to be a man anymore.

He says he just starts kissing them without even waiting (i.e. without getting their permission). He says that they can let you do anything when you're a star, but here permission is not in that they want to do it, but permission in that they feel like they have to do it, because someone of authority is pressuring them into doing it.

Nothing says dignity like giving public statements that you would like to sleep with your daughter potentially if it wasn't incestous or getting busted in private bragging about grabbing women's genatalia. Pure. Class.

Also the statement on "we're not so innocent" would be a lot more note worthy if it wasn't used in the context of him trying to deflect from all the shady ties he has to Russia, of which we know now he's had to fire two senior members of his staff over and is under investigation by from several government agencies.

Eh, being willing to consider to sleep with a relative if they weren't a relative isn't really a strange thing (I don't know the exact quote of Trump in this case though). What Trump brushed off as locker room talk was exactly that; that's exactly how many, if not most, men talk when women aren't around.

Regardless of the context, "we're not so innocent" is a very true statement.

That was not locker room talk, that was him admitting to doing what he feels justified to a woman.  There is one thing having thoughts, another admitting to actual action.  Dismissing that phrase would be the same if a Priest confessed to molesting little boys.  Since I am a man and I have definitely talked about what I would love to do to certain women with my friends, never has it ever been against a woman’s will.  In other words that was a sexual predatory comment no matter how much you try to normalize it.  Just because he did not think anyone would hear him confess to a sexual predator comment does not normalize the fact he said it and meant it.

Someone needs to post the exact quotes if this is supposed to go anywhere.

(video)

That doesn't reflect your previous post.

You are aware that there are terms in English for specific types of women, right? Gold diggers and groupies. There's no doubt in my mind that Donald Trump has met many women who fall into those categories, because of who he is.

The one specific woman he talked about in the beginning of the video didn't allow him to do what he wanted. He admitted that he had failed.

What exactly is the problem here? What part do you take issue with?

So, why do we disparage women by calling them gold diggers, and not the rich men by calling them "pussy diggers?"

Probably because there are already other derogatory terms for such men.

But it's mainly the women who get crticizied for it, and demeaned for it. Of course, this problem wouldn't even exist if men and women were on equal grounds.

What are you trying to argue?

What Trump said was mild, it certainly doesn't indignify him as a person like soundwave is trying to argue.

Hillary indignified herself with despicable things she said over the years, she opposed gay marriage openly and repeatedly for example. How the fuck is that acceptable ? It's a lot worse than what Trump ever said about women.

Fuck Clinton. I don't like her either. But this is a thread about Trump, I didn't know that unless I said something about her it meant that I was supporting her.

True.

The thing is, the media and Trump opposers try to single him out as being "the worst president ever" based on some silly stuff. "Look at the OP for example, people slip and mix names all the time. Is it really a big deal that he's talking about cake? Does that really make him worse than GWB? Give him time, he may end up being the worst president ever, but certainly not because he grabbed women by the pussy or said Iraq instead of Syria.

That's probably because the man is in the more respectable position in such a situation, and it's far more common that a man has the upper hand. Other women don't look kindly on gold diggers either.

If you turn the tables (rich woman with a man who is in the relationship for the money), it's the man who receives less respect (also among other men). But like I said, this combination is far less common.

That's the problem though, people are valued by their wealth instead of their personal qualities.
