If Switch can stay in a 36-40k range next week that would be pretty good. Mario Kart 8 week should be 100k at least (c'mon Nintendo, get some supply up).

pretty nice hold for switch. i expected it fall into 30 to 35ks. hope it stays above 35k when MK8 comes.

3ds will keep selling, and nintendo will keep the support(as shown in todays direct). they still not have the technology to shrink switch to a handheld friendly size, so, we will have to wait a year and a half to see switch replacing 3DS.

It's still sold out in Japan, so it'll keep selling whatever appears in stores (currently around 40k per week, it seems).

Itll sell what it ships at this point. Same story this week as previous weeks. (Sold out instantly/raffle tickets).

Dont expect way above 100k for switch. I think the max they can ship at that time is 150k. Theyll want to leave some stock for the following week too as its holiday period

preorders for DQXI at amazon.jp are 60% PS4, 35% 3DS, 5% PS4/3DS limited edtition. His expectations are 3,5m total, 2,3m for 3DS, 1,2m for PS4.

I Guess Japan has spoken, for now, and it's saying that Switch is a replacement for Wii U, but not so much for 3DS.

3DS will fade slowly, there's still some projects in the pipeline still to drop.  Seems the Switch has gutted the Vita though, which is somewhat odd.  But then again the Vita was targetting people who wanted a console-esque experience and the Switch goes beyond that and straight up is a console on the go sooo yeah, actually makes some sense.

It's not that odd. It's getting the same type of games and has a lot more in common with Vita than 3DS.

Let's no re-write history.  The vita began to fade long before the switch released.  Even if the console didn't exist the vita would still be doing low sales and be on the road to obscurity.  It's just coming to the end of it's natural cycle and would need titles like MH or YW to keep it going any longer which obviously isn't happening.

It's userbase will continue to transition to ps4 as it has been and now will also transition to the Switch.

It was fading pretty dang slowly prior to January. It was obviously slowly declining but it seems to have accelerated substantially now.

They should totally do DQXI for Switch this summer too.

Mario Kart 8 + Minecraft + Splatoon 2 + DQXI = game over.

C'mon Nintendo, just offer to pay for the extra staff needed to port the game over faster if that's the issue.

Its Unfornute. It wont happen, but that would be overkill

Not much more than Animal Crossing + Mario Kart + Brain Training 2 that all launched close together and drove DS sales sky high.

April - Mario Kart 8

May - Minecraft

June - ARMS

July - Splatoon 2

August - Dragon Quest XI

Would work. Besides with DQX coming this fall, I don't think they want DQXI in the fall window as well, it makes sense for summer.
