It doesnt mean anything, since theres still no PS5 in the near future. By the time PS5 goes out, his lil bro (Ps4) would have let him an easy path to walk without many obstructions... Being slightly better than Scorpio and having the same kind of library/devs Ps4 have, assures the success.

We are so far into this gen that it would be insane to not make a profit off of hardware. So when next gen starts, we'll be back to the same "selling a console at a loss" business model. So Sony will be able to offer a more powerful PS5 at a competitive price.
It means Tech will be cheaper in 2020.

Yes it is, but not by enough to make adding 4gb of ram, a larger processor, state-of-the-art cooling, a faster hdd and a UHD Bluray Drive the same price.

Yes.
Why? 3 years from now, the manufactureing plants that make the chips, will be able to make 7nm chips (vs the 16nm ones used today).
That results in a smaller chip, being as capable as the ones today, but costing less.
Not only that, typically power consumption ect drop too, meaning you can save in prices scorpio would need on bigger/more expensive PSU/Cooling.
So yes in 2020, Sony will make a Playstation 5, that ll cost 399$ and be more powerfull than a Xbox Scorpio at 499$ is today.
Xbox Scorpio is 6 Teraflops.
What will likely happend is Playstation 5 (2020), will have better cpu, and be around 10 teraflops and 100$ cheaper... however thats 3years out.
PS5 power will be equivelent to titan x pascal.
I expect the Scoprio to come out at 499$.
The problem for me,and many other not in the US, is that I'm in Canada. So it would be priced 665$ or more.
I'm fine with 499. Not with 665$...
So I'm taking a wait and see approach. I think the console is really awesome from a specs point of view. I really like the thought that went into it and its design. I've been waiting for it to fully materialize before finally getting a XBox console this gen. Having done the switch to 4K late last year, of course this console interests me. But pricing will be important. For all we know, it could sell for cheaper than what most people expect.
So I'm waiting for MS to come forward and make the complete reveal of the system.
