This made me laugh :)

@OP: my excitement over Lost Legacy revolves around whether it plays like the first three quarters of Uncharted 4 — large portions of which were on auto-pilot — or the final quarter, which was heavy on tactical gunplay. I really hope scripted sequences and cut-scenes are kept to a minimum, so the majority of those 10 hours can be spent sneaking around, conjuring up clever ways to outflank enemies, and, in general, improvising on the battlefield.

Also, getting The Precursor Legacy (one of my favorite PS2 games) as a pre-order bonus is pretty sweet :)

You are still expecting an uncharted game right? The franchise lives and dies on its scripted sequences and cutscenes....

I realize they won't disappear entirely, but I'm hopeful Naughty Dog will preserve a more palatable ratio of moments under player control and moments when control is wrested away from the player.

This.

I'm glad that linear and story heavy games is still a thing in a time where many AAA games are sold as services filled with MMO-like structures and "unprecedented" sized open worlds. But I'd love it if Naughty Dog tried to tell more of their story through gameplay, environments, characters, video logs, notes, etc. like former Valve games like Half-Life and Portal. As you say, they take away player control too often.

Naughty Dog has had some of this storytelling through the world in The Last of Us, for instance with the Ish notes. And it worked so well. I still clearly remember the story of Ish and his fellow survivors like Kyle who "saved" a group of children by shooting them and then comitted suicide.

i want this, pre order :)

I'll rent this one to complete it in a weekend.

considering that this will be 10 hours long and will have biggest open area of any previous uncharted entries i think the price is right.

That price is kinda steep....... especially coming from The last of US left behind stand alone dlc that was only $10.

I wasn't expecting this to cost more than $30 max....... I want it, and was going to get it day one; but that price takes it out of impulse buy for me. Now I will wait for reviews and see if it at least 10hrs long.

Is it just me or am I the only one that gets excited for E3 when announcements like these show up before the conference. I see that to mean they hav other sttuff they have to show instead.

If their 10~ hour claims are true, then $40 seems reasonable. It'd be a third shorter than UC4, and cost a third less. If it's more in the 5 - 8 hour range though, then yeah, this is excessive.

I personally feel exactly the opposite (i play Uncharted specifically for the crazy set pieces, with the other sections just being entertaining filler), but i expect you'll get your way with Lost Legacy.

If their 10 hour claims are accurate, the only way i can imagine them accomplishing that in just 1.5 years (while a lot of the studio has also shifted to TLOU2) would be if it's linearly re-using UC4's tech, and if it's focused on replicating the calmer (lol) portions of UC4. As much as i love UC's set pieces, designing, creating, and then getting them to actually run is an outstandingly ineffective process as far as time to create versus time to play time is concerned. Cut that out and remove the need to develop new tech, and the whole process should speed up considerably.

Very nice, looking forward to this release! Will it have a multiplayer?

Kinda excited for this one! I hope it's decently lengthy though. Wonder what else Sony will have for the Fall... I doubt GoW 4.
