Project Scorpio news still coming. Free Sync in a console? Did not see this one coming.

In actual fact, it's FreeSync 2 baked into Scorpio... Rich has the full details for you plus a video demo of what makes this technology so important.

Interesting. Only a matter of time until they put it in TVs.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Now if only there where TVs on the market with it.
HDR + Freesync would be sweet, time for TV manufactures to get with the times :)

Also I suspect this is scorpio being ahead of the times, I think in the future, all consoles will support this.

Wow, Scorpio is everything the Ps4 Pro should have been. Too bad they don't have exclusives.

But there are no TVs for it.... so right now its just future proofing.

Worse people that buy 4k TV's now, might regret it a year or two from now, when they release Xbox Scorpio / Playstation 5 / Xbox Two, will all be able to make use of freesync, and their TVs bought now dont have it.

In short... its abit to early to jump on 4k bandwagon (imo) give it another year or two, and hopefully by then its cheaper, and will also have freesync, and it ll be the standard for PS5 & XB2.

Indeed, impressive hardware on many levels, but probably $50-$100 more expensive and not many exclusive games...

I don't think it's going to be so much more expansive than the ps4 pro.

Anyway, as an OG Ps4 owner, if the Pro had these kind of specs I would be more prone to upgrade, even for $499.

I can agree with that. In fact I'm not buying neither the Pro or Scorpio right now.

But the thing is, if hypotetically I'm willing to spend (a lot) for a mid-gen upgrade I want all the bells and whistles that can come with it. So, 4K blu-ray, native 4K resolution, improved retro-compatibility and even a chocolate factory.

Literally all I'm thinking. I skipped the PS4 Pro because it's a rather shitty upgrade for me as an owner of a PS4 but the Scorpio would be an insta buy if it had games like Persona, TLoU, Nioh, Nier etc.

Why couldn't Sony have made a decent mid Gen console -_-

That's one thing Sony won't put in their TVs anytime soon.

Considering the graphics hardware inside PS4-Pro, I would not be surprised if they release an update that enables freesync (similar to how they enabled HDR support on both PS4 and PS4 Pro with an update).
