Forums - Sony Discussion - Playstation Vita has been dead for years. It hurts me too, but it's a fact. Let's move on.

What's a Vita?

Around the Network

Not sure what the point of this thread is. Do you want people to stop playing their vitas? Do you want them to stop talking about the system altogether? People are going to use and talk about the things they enjoy.

Honestly, it's been kinda nice the past few years. We went through the whole "Vita is dead!" threads in 2013/2014 and then they just stopped because people stopped caring, except Vita owners who kept buying games throughout those years; 2015 and 2016.

And that's going to continue in 2017. More than enough coming this year to satisfy you if you're part of the niche that Vita has been servicing since 2014.

This really does feel like a thread out of time. Is your "Sorry for not making Threads lately" comment because you've not made a thread for like the past 4 years and have now decided to carry on where you left off all those years ago? :P

So why should we already move on if we still have many fun games to play on the Vita?

I can't play the Lucas-Arts-Remastered adventures (Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango), Stein's Gate + Stein's Gate 0, Zero Escape 1 - 3, Danganronpa 1 - 3 + Another Episode, Root Letter, Shantae: Half Genie Hero, Severed, Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni, the Atelier games and many others on the Switch, or can I?

No, you can play them on 3DS, PS4 and other consoles.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

In 2017 I will buy more games on the Vita than any other system.

Is it selling poorly? Obviously.
Is it still getting great support? I'd say so.

For it to be "dead," it would had to have been alive at one point.

Check the Vita's numbers in North America. It's almost Xbox-in-Japan bad.

mmmm no...no it isn't.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Not sure its dead.......it and the Switch has the same type of games coming to it....indie games

PS4 and other home consoles aren't an option if I want to play these games outside home.

And most of the (few) multiplatform games that are on 3DS and Vita are gimped on 3DS.
