Thats because its not close to the scorpio, the memory is slower the graphics card is slower and there is less Vram available, most memory will be allocated for the VRAM in the scorpio so the 4GB on this card of slower memory with a smaller memory bus will not compete.

You would also need 8GB's of ram obviously and a windows key and a power supply (can be cheap) and a case. The only thing you are never going to match is the memory speed however, since the speed on the AMD drives is slower, the scorpio actually does have a graphics card that is more powerfull then the current like of AMD cards, you could obv. go for the AMD Fury which has faster memory or switch to Nvidia instead.

When you switch to Nvidia (obvious choice) its quite hard to make the same system, because the card in the Scorpio is somewhere between the 1060GTX and 1070GTX but again the memory speeds are slower.

Clearly its hard to make "the same" system because microsoft chose the memory they did but I think if you overclock the 480 or 1060GTX 6GB it should be "pretty close" but I doubt games will run as good as they are going to on the scorpio, because if the optimalization.

The Pro was easier to copy because it was slower then a 470RX and has a much lower memory amount which is also much slower.

Anyway, its a tough one ^^

I was about to say, dint DF said that the performance is closer a a gtx 1070? Why do people keep making list with the rx 480? its like a $120 diference right there. People forget that consoles are made just for games, so 6tf on a console is bettern than 6tf on a pc. I dont think you can build a comparable pc for less than $600.

They are making lists because the RX480 is the same technology and the Scorpio is basically a RX480 architecture with a bigger memory bus, much faster memory and more T/flops but there is no AMD card equivalent right now, the RX580 would outperform the Scorpio card in T/flops but again have a weaker memory bus and speeds.

Its going to be hard to make a matching pc, the only thing you could do is put a better card in it and then indeed you would end up on a 1070GTX and altough its faster overall it does have slower memory

Well thats the thing. The OP was about a similar performance, not a similar architechture. If we cant use amd then theres no choice than to use the gtx1070.

Yep the only thing to do is over perform, because a RX480 is significantly slower, for the ps4 pro people pick the RX470 which is also faster then the ps4 pro so I guess using a 1070 makes much more sense then the RX480 because memory speeds and memory bus are key in achieving 4K which is what the console is designed for. :) it even holds an edge on that vs the 1070 but because the card outperforms it overall I think its fair

His 480 is 179,- but a 1070GTX costs way more then double that, so yeah its much over 600, the card alone would set you back 400 at least, proberbly more.

THe 580 has a higher Tflops, lower memory stuff, but at least its not inferior in EVERY wary like the RX480 so it would be a farer comparison for sure. The 1070 is simply faster, thats the thing with consoles they are highly customized so its not always easy to make a pc with the "same" specs so you have to brute force it and make something faster
