So I got a PS4 Pro! I got the Destiny 2 LE console for $350 on Black Friday. So I just finally got to unbox it, and I had a question about the data transfer process.

I have PT on my OG PS4, and I was worried originally about losing this in the transfer process, but D21Lewis told me a long time ago the right option for transferring your data so I could keep PT on my Pro. I don’t quite remember now, and I can’t find his post anywhere! :/

Anyone have any knowledge on this?

I simply did a system transfer with a direct lan cable connection and pt was copied over. It takes quite a while though.

ps4pro is only worth it for psvr in my expierence

Personally, I don't feel the need for a PS4 Pro, 1 - because I already have a PS4 that still works and 2 - I don't have a 4K TV.

I've enjoyed it quite a bit, but mostly just as a "PS4, but better". Considering I like my base PS4 quite a bit it seemed like a no brainer, but I wouldn't get too anxious over missing out.

For similar reason, I have 0 interest in the XBoxx, because I never use the base model (I actually put it back in storage I was using it so little).

P.S. The way things are going it's likely the PS5 will carry over a lot of the Pro's improvements, so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, I would say it isn't a necessary upgrade. For those currently buying a PS4, though, it would be silly to buy the slim for $299 when the Pro is only $50 more this week. While games don't look massively better on a 1080p tv, features such as supersampling on like 85% of the releases and a number of games having higher framerate options are well worth a scant $50 more.

I do but I dont see the difference when sitting 3 meters in front of it.

Just bought it because it was basically the same price as a 1080p

I see...so it’s....cheap and tiny?!

I have the Pro since launch, side by side with original PS4. Good  games like Horizon, GT S, Ratchet & Clank and UC are clearly better on Pro. Then you there aare games  like D2 which use same  assets on both platforms, so outcome is meh.

The main problem I had was to find a good monitor, I went Asus 27 inch 4k 60Hz monitor, which is good but lacks HDR. In general it is hard to find low latency 4k 60 Hdr even today.

One final comment, Pro is typically  more silent than launch PS4, but Slim is the most silent of all.
