Forums - General Discussion - 59 tomahawk missiles launched in Syria

https://www.rt.com/news/383968-civilians-killed-syria-airbase-attack/

First the chemical attack, and now this. I am concerned for Syria's future. We are so obsessed with correcting and bashing each other, but forget that this is all happening from countries and leaders of all kind.

Not trying to exactly turn this into a political thread. I suppose I am focusing more on the fact that this is unfortunate. Six and a half years, and yet nothing has gotten better. Who would have ever predicted such a downfall for Syria?

I've long since stopped trying to pretend I know what should be done in Syria. It's certainly one of those tragedies that has no clear answers; just about any action or even inaction will have terrible consequences.

Isn't there already a thread for this? OR did Trump fire more missiles on top of the first 59? It wouldn't surprise me tbh.

I have learned that this is not something with a clear answer. Took months of studying and denial to admit it. Always hurts when the smartest option is to do nothing and watch Syria collapse :(

"US launches missiles at Syrian Base following chemical attack"
D) Where is C? Why did I use 3?

I made this because it isn't necessarily about the topic itself.

We're almost near the 7th anniversary of the arab spring, and we have gone nowhere. It's one of the most depressing events of the 21st century

So before ....5 Years ago Syria was a good place to live?

Does this country Border Afghanistan?

Certainly wasn't terrible before the Arab Spring. It was flawed, but still manageable.

It does not border Afghanistan. It borders Lebanon and Iraq. It's several hundred kilometers away

I don't understand. Why would Assad use a chemical method to irradicate 86 people? That's the size of a busy street corner. Couldn't he have sent goons, police, or missiles? A chemical attack gives America a propaganda tool to gain "just cause".

Assad probably denies responsibility because ...

We're counting Russia Today as "the left"?
