Rogue One is kind of a weird movie, the 1st half of the film is an absolute fucking train wreck that meanders all over the place, the second half is great, but for people who rip on TFA for cribbing from ANH, Rogue One rips off a lot from Return of the Jedi.

8th: Attack of the Clones (for reasons outlined above)

5th: Rogue One (decent movie but characters are forgettable and it was more of a fan service movie
4th: The Force Awakens As ive watched it more it has grown on me but is still a step below the originals
3rd: A New Hope ( yes it started the revolution but it is SO dated at this point and the bad acting doesnt hold up)
2nd: Return of the Jedi Great movie one of my favorites ever! Great action and the effects hold up well enough!
1st: Empire Strikes back (for reasons outlined above)

Is it a meme joke that people like Empire Strikes Back? Or is it like Blade Runner where there's a much better version? To be honest, the movie felt kind of filler-ish. It was really boring.

I watched all the Star Wars movies for the first time this year (except Phantom Menace and The Force Awakens which I had seen before), I liked Rogue One by far the best, then Return of the Jedi, and A New Hope third. While I did like Rey from Force Awakens, I didn't really like the movie, The rest were all kind of meh.

But aside from Rogue One, Star Wars is super overrated.

Fine list, I almost agree entirely with the positioning except for one small change: I'd definitely switch the positions of Rogue One and Force Awakens. "Apart from suffering from a serious case of deja vu" is terribly underselling the copy/paste in terms of screenplay and structure - hell  to the punchline of jokes even - that this movie has going for it. As fun as Force Awakens is, I'd say its the least original movie of them all, and in a franchise characterized for that, it becomes a major problem, not a small detail. 

I haven't seen Rogue One yet but otherwise I'd rank them the same as you Vek. Actually, Empire and New Hope pretty much tie for me.

No way Revenge of the Sith is less than TFA. I call bullshit on that. And same goes for RotJ over RotS
