Can I have your old components?

If they weren't already claimed, I'd be all for it. In the future, if you're serious, I'll hold on for you to track the old stuff down.

Haha thanks but I'm acting in jest

So, is this - for real this time - expected PS5's GPU ?
Im serious.

They most likely won't use Nvidia, and powerwise, this is about where a PS4 Pro 2 or XBO Scorpio 2 should be.

PS5 and XB4 would need 20+TFLOPS, at least 32GB of HBM RAM (128GB if we want the same increase we have seen in every gen since PS1), and well over 1TB/s memory bandwidth.

I still think we will see next gen consoles in 2022 - 2024, with one more revision coming to the PS4 and XBO around 2019 - 2020.

As for the Titan Xp. I love it. Having options in the market that are for the most die hard or hardcore is great. I really hope that we can see a console equivalent to the Titan in the futute.

You can't play bragging rights.  And if they spent hundreds just to brag, they can spend more to brag again.

Sure you can't but PCMR subreddit can. And well... It is $700 vs $1200 so... It is a big difference if they want to upgrade cause they just bought a new GPU for $700 and now they probably can't return it and it's just a big hassle.

Because the norm has always been Titan would give you the inital but expensive bragging rights and then if you waited for the xx80Ti, you would get bragging rights for half the price of the Titan but later. Now neither the original Titan owners or the 1080Ti owners gets bragging rights unless they buy the TitanXp.

If I'm not mistaken, EVGA had a program that allowed you to upgrade your card and only pay the difference (more or less) within a certain amount of time. If that program still works, I can see a few Titan X(Pascal) users upgrading to the new Xp for little.

As for 1080Ti users... well, it will be a bit more.

Thanks Nvidia.

With Scorpio looking pretty decent, my GPU upgrade will be postponed awaiting the GTX 1180, which will be faster than all these without the dik measuring tax.

Will wait until a GPU is actually twice as fast as what i got arrives.

Rumors say that Nvidia will change the first number for their next round of cards, so you're looking forward the GTX 2080,

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

More or less nails it on Nvidia wanting to milk their high end users than to actually compete.

I don't see that happening for years, and even then, by the time consoles were to get their equivalent of an XP, there would be another GPU out there in the PC market that outpaces it by a large margin, once again putting said Titan behind the curve.

Going after most dedicated and affluent customers other than giving them higher margins will make their brand look exclusive and desiderable, giving them also a price advantage for general consumer products.

It's the exact same strategy of german car manifacturers and it works pretty well.

Actually, that what they've been doing for sometime at this point.
