What's the point of scorpio beeing powerful when its games are available on the pc which can be even more powerful and can have stuff that is on ps4 and pc only. I don't even know what the point of the xbox is anymore.

People usually use the "cost" argument of buying a console over a PC. Plus the "Convenience" angle. And we cannot forget controllers either.

What do you miss out if an Xbox game is on PC? Buy the game for the platform you wish to play on. Who gives a crap if it's exclusive, I hate exclusivity it limits where I can game.

It's a business. Exclusives are what makes consoles worth it. If there were no exclusives the console market would implode.

The convinience is the only angle you got. Controllers you have on the PC, you can connect your PC to the TV and play it in your couch. I am a console gamer, i understand the convinience argument. But if it wasn't for all the latest exclusive games, i would not buy a console and would expand my PC instead.

A PC with Scorpio capabilities would cost a lot more. The Scorpio is a way to get that true 4K gaming for a 400-500 price range. As for games MS has been teasing a better first party line up at E3 and i hope they deliver because they need more games to sell the console.

The PC argument, which i myself have admittedly made, its too sweeping.

Console with a physical media player is for the console market, for the big screen/livingroom, at a console price.

The use case scenario is too different across too many variables.

I agree if you are a core game that wants the best graphical experience and money is no object, build a killer PC and deal with the nuances of something not built to deliver a seamless, unified, optimized and accessible experience... the tinkering and problem solving often involved, separate clients/libraries, etc...

For console user experience, Scorpio is the closest you'll get to high quality 4K PC gaming experience on your television for the next few years. That's always worth something, and it helps it will be 1/2 to 2/3rds the cost a similar gaming PC. That's what consoles bring to the market, because they are engineered specifically to run game code and media.

Im talking about MS teasing new games for this E3 not past E3s.

So those were years the games were announced? Also Phantom dust isn't HD. It will use original graphics.

It's a HD port with improved graphics.

The ~10% boost in CPU over PS4 Pro surely doesn't live up to the Scorpio hype.

So, Scorpio has the same CPU as PS4, clocked slightly higher. GPU with 40 GCN cores as oppose to PS4 pro's 36, also clocked higher. 12GB gddr5 vs PS4 pro's 8GB gddr5 +1GB ddr3, also admitteadly faster. Scorpio is definitely superior but it's not groundbreaking difference. We still don't know the price and there is not a lot worthy exclusives on Xbox platform. I think Sony is not loosing sleep over this.

TBH I was expecting 54 cores. But instead they overclocked it with 40 cores which IMO is disappoinintg. We already knew about 6TF and ram BW. CPU was not a surprise and so was the 4K BR drive. 12gb ram was also rumored. The price and difference between the checkerboard, Scorpio resolution will be intresting. That is the only difference in IQ I can see. The only good, surprise was that all games will be supersampled for 1080P users which I think Sony should implement via update soon.

How does the hardware justify the hype? Just buy a fucking PC. Think about it. You already spent that money on the X1, and MS is not targeting new users with the Scorpio, so now you are going to spend that money again even if you get some money back from selling off the X1. Then there is XBL where you pay for annually, which is not a thing on PC. Just buy a decent fucking PC and get it over with lol.

I believe if your favorite games are 3rd party games then this is the system to get. I am happy with my PS4Pro but I still prefer the X1 UI, controller, 4K Blu Ray drive not to mention the X1 is my primary hub for other things besides games. So looking at how MS engineered the Scorpio, I am happy to give them my money. Along with my Elite Controller, MS will once again be my go to console for 3rd party games.

As for the Scorpio changing the market share of the Xbox vs the PS that is not going to happen. The system is definitely designed for the core xbox crowd. Its MS trying to claw back their userbase by going back to what made the 360 a top console. Now that the hardware part is out of the way, they can continue to concentrate on getting the right exclusives to their system and being the go to console for 3rd party games as well. I have to say that the moves Phill has made since coming on board and righting the ship have all been right on track.

I have to wonder what does it matter.  If you believe having the GPU at the same frequency as your desktop GPU isn't impressive in a cosole size hardware which probably going to be smaller and more compact then the X1 S I am not sure MS could have made you happy.  More core does not make the console better since it was always going to hit exactly the target specs MS released already.  None of the things you state were rumored.  Those were the specs MS released during E3.  The thing is people started to over hype what MS already stated without thinking that when MS made those specs revealsed they already was probably on silcone.  The impressive part of the hardware is that from the front to the back of the pipeline MS has made sure to give the console the memory and speed to do exactly what they stated it will do.  If anyone was hoping for next gen Xbox then they were really just fooling themselves.  Price is a big issue here so MS had to hit that target as well.
