Interesting.

Hyrule is Hyrule.

There's some differences, though.

I noticed that ,spoiler

When Ganon returns for the second part of the battle Zelda mentions that he returns across the ages but this time he gave up his reincarnations to continue this fight  so we may have a new enmy next game

Yeah, I think setting it so far in the future paired with this fact is Nintendo's way of rebooting the franchise without retcon to the entire established timeline.  It may be a matter of time before they announce a kind f "dragonbreak" where the events from over 10,000 years ago are the same for all three timelines after a point.  Like a way of saying fate will find a way so to speak.

BotW's map is equally similar to OoT as to ALttP

Probably Link Between World's, too. It was basically ALttP's map if I remember correctly.

BotW is a reference to every other Zelda game. Except maybe Spirit Tracks, I didn't play that one though. I assure you there's a hill or lake or field that references it, but I just don't know it.
The point is, you will find similarities to past Zelda games somewhere.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Definitely a lot of nods to earlier games, particularly Skyward Sword and Ocarina.

I smiled when I spotted Linebeck Island on the map :)

It seems to be a reoccurring theme so not too surprising

But really like how it's connected like this

...and Twilight Princess.

I've said it already, Hyrule is always the same. Inevitably they'll move some things around, but the general layout always stays the same, this has been consistent since A Link to the Past if not even the first Legend of Zelda already.

Since the first Zelda

The Sandy terrain you find south of death montain in Zelda 2? That's where Zelda 1 took place.

Now take that Zelda 2 map, cut away everything south of death mountain and the second continent, rotate clockwise by 130° and you'll have a map similar to the one of aLttP

To explain: Death mountain is then to the north instead of south, the lost woods are where you found Bagu in the Zelda 2, Northern Palace is Hyrule Castle, the cave where you found the water of life in Tantari desert is where Zora lives or the eastern palace, parapa palace is the desert palace, Swamp ruins is the second palace. Only Kakariko village would be totally missing, but that one could have been razed/abandoned during Ganon's return.

Just compare and argue for yourself

If you don't believe it, you can always take this into your headcanon:
