Sony responds with exclusives and lower price.

I can build a Scorpio right now and have all the same games.

Yeah, maybe Microsoft can start to gain some ground in US/UK but globally PS4 is going to dominate XBO no matter what.

When you say "literally none of those things are necessary", do you mean to say that PS has no need to ever create another PS4, or a PS5? I can't be sure, even though you said literally, because thats what it sounds like.

let me clarify, literally none of those things are necessary to counter Scorpio because Scorpio poses no threat to PS4.

Because a year old tech is still more expensive than 4-5 year old tech. Additionally, they MS are changing and upping far more components than Sony. While Sony just mirrored their bits, MS is adding a UHD, changing RAM type, adding more RAM, possibly changing their GPU etc. Also, I doubt MS will want to sell at a loss at launch. At the very least they will try to break even. 

So in 5 years, this can't be doable? 12GB of GDDR5 vs 8GB DDR3 when the hardware is 5 years newer is hard to replicate? The PS4 Pro is capable of 1800p, 2160p isn't that much more of a jump. And if Microsoft is planning on trying to profit on the HW, that would be very stupid. It won't be $500...



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

It will all depend on how many people will buy the Scorpio and what kind of support it will get. It could be a 20 Terraflops beast with a GPU that's powered by fairy dust, but the question is if that will translate to the actual games. The ps4 Pro is also 4 times more powerful than the ps4, I own one and I love it, but to be fair, it's not that the games look 4 times better. You just get slightly better graphics and framerate because no developer is seriously tapping in on the extra horsepower and alienate the normal ps4 userbase.

Of course, I would love to see MS push the Scorpio with crazy exclusives, build from the ground up to take advantage of the hardware. But kinda doubt that will happen.

If it sells as much as the PS4 Pro, which is very little, I don't think it will affect anyone at all.
2017, the year where TFlops matter less, and quality software matters most... and what will it bring after all? ANother prettier installment of Forza? ANother prettier installment of Halo? Please...

Sony selling PS4s like hotcakes and having exclusives like Horizon Uncharted 4 and Until Dawn, plus PSVR: They do not have to respond at all. If anything, Sony is doing overkill this gen, they are light years ahead of the competition.
