Forums - General Discussion - [Tokyo Treat #2] Look at what vivster got in the mail again today! - Pokemon revealed!

It happened again, who knew!

I did! http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=226446

This crate definitely offers a lot more and seems overall a lot tastier right off the bat. There are Dagashi inside that have no direct description in the booklet so I will translate as well as I can with my limited Japanese.

That's what is inside from top left to bottom right:

Kyabetsu Tarou - Corn puffs with some Japanese flavor
- Quite tasty, couldn't quite put my finger on what it actually tasted like.

Pokemon Chocolate Wafers - Includes 1 of 24 collectivle Pokemon Stickers! Which one will I get? Stay tunded to find out!
- Tastes like chocolate and wafers, nothing special. But did get a fuckin fish sticker!

Caramel Chocoball - Apparently with a creamy caramel center
- The cernter wasn't as creamy as promised. it was just regular chocolate coated toffee. Tasty tho.

Ghana Milk Chocolate - Apparently quite popular in Japan
- Tastes like chocolate

Rice Crackers with Sauce - With whatever "Natsukashi" taste is
- This was really interesting. At first it was just dry wafers with a light sweet taste. Then I found the little package with the sauce. I poured the sauce drip for drip on the crackers. It was really salty and tasted a lot like Soba. In combination with the wafers it was quite tasty.

Pocky - OMG it's actual original Pocky! Can you guess what flavor it is? -.-
- Yep, it's Pocky. With the usual matcha taste I'm not very fond of.

Chip Star Lobster Bisque - Yes, these are high class chips with lobster flavor. I feel so cultured
- I haven't had lobster but it distinctively tastedlike seafood. Certainly never had chips with that flavor

Umaibou Pizza flavor - This is all I wanted from the last box
Really really dry corn puff stick with pizza flavor. Was alright but I expected better.

Honey Soy Sauce Rice Cracker - That actually sounds amazing
- Was alright.

Pureral Peach Gummy - Apparently with a special texture that will make me think I'm eating actual fruit. Healthy!
- Very soft gummies with peach flavor, not too sweet. Resealable package!

Chocobat - Some inoffensive chocolate thing
- inoffensive indeed.

Mochitto Purin - Pudding flavored rice thingies
-
Very tasty. Tasted like authentic mochi with pudding flavor. Definitely gonna get more pudding flavored stuff in Japan.

Mini Karl Corn Puffs - More corn puffs are always appreciated
-
Yep, quite tasty.

Like always I will update my impression right below the item as soon as I get to it.

Let the feast begin!

Yay for Pokemon edition!

Can safely say Ghana chocolate is great! White Ghana is better, but it seems they only sell that around White Day unfortunately.

Macha Pocky look interesting too. It's literally been years since I had pocky, should probably try some again soon

And I thought racist people in Japan were just a myth.

Hey, at least I was only comparing it to the milk chocolate one rather than Dark Ghana. Although White > Dark for that one too

I'm gonna confirm that right now brb

edit: tastes like chocolate

Ripoff Treat!

These boxes are way too expensive for what they're worth. I subbed last year, great candy for sure, but too little for $30. Also doesn't help they come in tiny packages, really bad for nature to have so much plastic waste.

Europe is progressive, much candy, big packages, little plastic.

I think it's quite cheap. Considering a trip to Japan can cost you up to 1000€.

Are the candies cheaper in Japan and are they available in bigger sizes? I'm really troubled by all the plastic waste.

If I go to Japan I'll ship back a big crate of candy lasting me for a year.

I will too but for now this is the most convenient option.

Finished Ghana Chocolate. Tastes indeed like chocolate but kinda missing the particular Ghana flavor.

Do you have much experience with what Ghana tastes like?

Like cotton and tears.
