Just watched GameXplain's video, it's not perfect yet but is MUCH improved.
One day I shall visit Korok Forest without frame rate drops... one day...

S.Peelman said: Excellent! The game is so enticing that I didn't really care, but less framerate issues is of course even better. How's killing Moblins now? There were big drops 9 of 10 times when killing a Moblin. |
I'm curious, does everyone have this issue?
I was over my brother's place the other day and was playing BOTW on Switch and was shocked at the slide show that was happening every time I killed a Moblin. I've put in nearly 100 hours on BOTW on my machine and haven't had it happen once, yet I can't imagine why there would be a difference from one machine to another.

All I could think of. it's also caused by your save file. How much stuff done. The same problem Skyrim did, to the PS3.
Any idea how to check game version on Switch? When I try to update it says I have the latest version, but still I can't see the number itself.
So, overall no problem? Read minutes ago that the Wii U version make it run with lower resolution. Can anybody tell us their experience with the patch in the Wii U version?

Start the game. In boot menu (Continue, New Game...) look in the low right corner. There is your version number.
The improvement can be really appreciated when fighting moblins (at least on Wii U). Frame-time occasionally went to zero when fighting these guys, giving you the sensation that the console was about to crash, but I have played the game for a few hours with this patch and I haven't noticed the issue so far.
Also, combat in general feels a little smoother.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
It seems the frame drops are indeed software and port related and not insufficient hardware like some people like to say...
