Yes I give up too, it's amaing. I don't care about the invisible walls anymore, too busy enjoying all the sights and things to do in the desert. 30 hours in, lvl 35, still 'on the way' to Meridian.

Where do I find rats btw? Maybe I'm always missing them, I need rat bones so I can finish the upgrades and be done with hunting, clear out some of my inventory.

Use your focus a lot to hunt animals especially rats and racoons. Rats are pretty much everywhere although Horizon has such dense vegetation that spotting them without a focus is rather difficult.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I played for about an hour on a new samsung 4k quantum bit TV...Very pretty.

Yeah it is.  REALLY picks up story wise down the stretch.  Loved it.

I actually have. I've taken down all four of the divine beasts, got the master sword from the stone in front of the deku tree after upgrading to 13 hearts from taking down dozens of temples, completed all of the memory locations from the picture upgrade to my tablet, bought my house, upgraded the house, upgraded my village, and defeated Calamity Ganon, and finally took down Dark Beast Ganon thanks to the assist from Zelda.

What's it to you?

It's hilarious how it's unimaginable to you that someone would prefer the combat in Horizon a lot more compared to the combat in BotW. Have you considered perhaps they're one of those poeple that really doesn't like having multiple weapons break in one battle? There's plenty of legitimate reasons to prefer one way more than the other on either side as both have their pros and cons. It's easy to see how someone could prefer one ot the other having spent dozens of hours playing both.

.. have you spent dozens of hours playing both?

I'm sorry,  but I'm not gonna pretend I believe you when I don't, and you naming all the obvious things everyone does in BoTW is actually even more suspicious and only tells me that you are informed about the basic stuff of the game, which is obvious after an entire month hating on every BoTW thread.

I never said you couldn't preffer Horizon combat, of course you can and I understand why, Horizon has cool combat, but to say Zelda is "waaaaaaaaay" worse is pushing it too far imo, I don't know why some people acts like if I said something bad about Horizon, I didn't.

I am just stating this from a simple bservation of your behavior, seen until this point and it's for your own good, everyone is free to have whatever opinions they want about everything they personally enjoy, as a individual free human-being they are free to do so, just because they share a different opinion from you doesn't give you the right to falsely accuse anyone from not "Playing a game deep enough like you" for lying, lying for what reasons? Just to have a different opinion or world-perspective on what makes his taste his own taste? Grow up and stop behaving like a narcissistic spoiled person, have some self-respect, having it all your way is only seen as a obnoxious behavior and it doesn't dignify you, so why go through this humiliation? You are only hurting yourself and you aren't gaining any self-respect at all from this, neither do i from wasting my time on the internet and experiencing all sort of shit we shouldn't assume to be real life at all.

Remember the first dungeon you fall into as child that has the focus? There are at least two rats on its entrance. (Down there)

I recommend the northeast part of the Nora lands, right after the first fallen city you find with the Tallneck, there is the sea there, with some destroyed buldings you can get into by swimming.

Follow this coast to the north, there will be an small connection betwen two points of land with shallow water, it's a good place to find rats, also to fish if you want, you'll find at least two rats there with your focus, kill them, walk away a bit and go back to find more, you'll also want some fish loot so use this place to collect both, other animals also spawn there.

Thanks. I found some in the desert, still need a lot more so I'll check there. I didn't use focus much at all since it's really slams the brakes on your movement. Yet with it it's easy to spot animals and mark the ones you need. Now they need to drop the yellow or blue loot! I got all the fish I needed so far around a pond with crocs somewhere. That's where I started to use the mark feature as the fish aren't visible without it. Very useful.

Made it to lvl 38 now, got distracted again, still not close to Meridian. I'm ignoring the tallnecks for now, filling in the map by exploring the way I like it :)

By the time I got to Meridian I had already explored the whole map (to it's very edges) and was in the max level, so yeah, I know the feeling XD
Even if you use the Tallnecks, there is still stuff they won't show, some robots hunting places, a good bunch of fireplaces, etc, but yeah, keep without using them, it's sad to see it open so fast, even as it's awesome up there, lol.

You'll probably still need at least one more fish skin if you don't have any extra, so try to get it when you are there.

Also, you are probably already far in the desert, so do all the caldrouns if you still didn't and go between those two mountains in the middle right part of it to override one you know what and watch it fight its equal.

It's so fucking cool xD

I had a Sawtooth fight a Thunderjaw, pretty evenly matched after I neutered the Thunderjaw of it's weapons. It got a bit hairy when the Sawtooth turned on me and they both came after me alerting some more riff raff as well. I have the upgrade that overiding should last indefinitely, but I guess that doesn't include taking heavy damage. I wonder if I can override a glint hawk to help with the flying variant. It gets chaotic so quickly any carefully laid out plans of attack ususally go out the window 10 seconds in :)

I've completed 2 cauldrons so far, trekking along the north edge atm. Not sure if I can override Thunderjaws yet, need to check. I did pass by the 2 between the mountains. Overriding one would have made that a lot easier! I usually end up with a fire volley than normal arrows after tear blasting weapons off when aplicable. The shadow bow with 3 purple upgrades is so fast, hardly any time to use anything else.

Having a different opinion is ok, pretending you played a game when you didn't is not

You'll only be able to override Thunderjaws after you finish the last cauldron.
It gets easy to kill them when you know what to do, honestly they stopped even touching me, and would go down real quick.

What I do is using the ropecaster weapon to tie it down to the ground, with the best version of it and mods focused on making it penetrate more easily, I could tie one down with 4 ropes, which was pretty quick, and if you know where to shot (in the body to start with, and in the face once it starts wanting to attack you, so it'll get stunned for a little bit) it will go flawlessly, then use the time it is tied down to freeze it with the slingshots bombs of ice (I think it was 4 of them to freeze it as well).
When it's frozen, you can take down the disc launchers on its side very fast, but if you want, you can take the disc weapon before doing the tying + freezing, the point is to take it down quick when it's frozen, so you get it and shot the frozen Thunderjaw with it, a normal one will probably go down with the 6 available disc shots it has if it's frozen all the time, but if you are reluctant, taking the disc launchers after freezing it (which does more damage) has always worked for me, but avoiding using tearblasts and shoting it from the side you took the disc launcher will leave another one available to take after if you miss some shots or can't kill it yet (or just use explosives).

Using the disc launchers on enemies is so freaking good as well, lol. I wish they would let us use those machine and heavy weapons when we please after beating the game, or getting the platinum, just for fun, 'cause the heavy weapons are so good xD

Ha, I did just that last night as I got the shadow ropecaster with the tutorial to use it on heavy machines. Thunderjaw became very easy with that. I also messed about with corruption arrows a bit. Quick lesson, don't use it in the middle of a hectic fight to hope to turn them on eachother. I think they just got more angry at me lol. Good thing I had 4 bars of medicine on me.

lvl 41 now, only 9 more to go it seems? That doesn't seem enough to get all skills? I still have 2 more hunting grounds to find and maybe other stuff gives skill points as well?

enemy combat could have been better and i never ended up using modifications and didn't see a need for some of the weapons. I wish there could have been scenarios where i had to make use of all weapons. But then again replay value is there. Some of the best looking vistas in any game to date.
