This story is more or a less a sequel of a previous story I told you guys. A psudeo-sequel to the tale of Lizzy. Less tragic and more of a e~e ending XD
So about three months after Lizzy died (around August of 2005), I had gone back to school. The semester was young and I spent the entirety of my Summer without a pet. Well over the past month I had grown infatuated with the idea of having a pet turtle. I'm not sure why but I did. I kept telling my parents to get me one but they'd reply with, "Uhh, maybe later." One day that changed, sorta.
My mom was doing a church related activity and was on her way home when she saw a turtle/tortoise (not sure which, been so long honestly). Knowing I had wanted one she took it off the road and brought it home with her.
When she got home she had no place to put it so she put it in a metal wheelbarrow in our back lawn. To make sure it felt comfortable she put water in the wheelbarrow. That day the sun was in the 110's (F).
She picked me up from school telling me she had a present for me. I got all exciting and got her to crack. She had a turtle for me! I was excited and gave it a name (which I have since forgotten). When we get home she has me stay outside of the car while she goes and grabs my new pet! Only to return empty handed.
I ask her what's wrong, so looks at me and goes, "Sweetie, the turtle is dead..." Confused, I go, "How?!" She says to me, "Well, I put water in the wheelbarrow and when I went to get him, he was burned up..."
So yes, the turtle shared the same fate as my iguana. I didn't try to do what I did with Lizzy, thankfully v.v XD but I was upset!
