Batgirl is flying solo. The superheroine is getting her own standalone movie from filmmaker Joss Whedon.

Whedon is nearing a deal to write, direct, and produce an untitled Batgirl pic for Warner Bros. as part of its DC Extended Universe.

No other producers are currently attached. Toby Emmerich, president and chief content officer of Warner Bros. Pictures Group is overseeing with Jon Berg and Geoff Johns. The new project originated in the past month.

Whedon would be making a big move from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to its DC counterpart, having written and directed “The Avengers” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” for Disney-Marvel. He also created the television series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” “Firefly,” “Dollhouse,” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

Seem an odd statement. how can you like his stuff if you hate superhero stuff. All of his stuff is superhero stuff except firefly, which is basically a star trek rip off.

Just cause some of his stuff isn't based on a comic, doesn' tmean it isn't basically a superhero show.

the dark knight trilogy is amazing and Logan is a very good movie but i'll agree to you superheroes movies are saturated :/

I dont know the guy.... name doesnt ring a bell at all, but damn if that is not impressive.

Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse.... I loved all those.

The Avengers was pretty good too.

And than lost me at DC movie. Arrgh if he gets to abadon the horrible style of shooting film I will be excited. However if the continue to film in dim horrible lighting void of life, I will pass. You can make solid film without taking color out of something.

Tbh I dont really care about the people behinde the product.... I just enjoy watching it.

Doesn't Marvel do that. I remember an entire Youtube video where a guy basically explained it. Hell he even added colour himslef and the marvel movies looked so much better. DC in general is better at animation and comic writing compared to Marvel right now. Even in Tv shows. All it needs is to conquer the movies and total domination. I think that Wonder Woman will have more colour. Watch it's trailer maybe you'll like it
