OT: Been there myself, one of my rigs crapped out while I was in the bathroom (also crapping...). Short circuit mother board and fried GPU, the chassis was smoking when I came into my room and the PC was, of course, shut down.

Same thing happened to me. I left it on with Tomb Raider running at 5760 (3 monitors), and I didnt notice the fan cable was stopping the actual fan (of the CPU) to spin, so when i got home after 2 hours it was hell inside the PC case... Just check the fans... Prolly they are dusty or are faulty.

Have you considered washing your PC from all the dirt that's on and inside it?.

Could always send it to the scrap heap if it's dying, not like there is any need for it since it's a "dying platform"

The burning problem is usually fixed by replacing AMD with Intel and Nvidia components.
