It's only a natural extension of companies like Google, Apple, Facebook and Microsoft already selling every scrap of info you share or look for, which we're accepting every day.
It's terrible news for sure, but it's already happening on a slightly smaller scale and with different companies.

That should've prompted the congress to further protect our rights, as we don't know what else our infos are sold for.

That is absolutely not an excuse to side with business and not our rights to privacy.

We need to get these clowns out of office as soon as possible.

I'm pretty sure that rank in the social ladder is much more determined by the money you're born to than genetics.

I don't know the contribution of each but I'm pretty sure you can't rule out genetics as a significant contribution to the social ladder.

A lot of studies have been done on "nurture vs. nature" using twins. Environment and starting point have a much bigger impact on success and development than genetics.

That's like saying I get to start Monopoly with $10,000 and a full explanation of the rules and you get to start with $10 and no idea of how the game works since you have better genetics. I'm sure your genes will prevail in that scenario.

I'm not siding with them, and I actually started years ago to stop buying products from companies with shady business practices (at least the ones we openly hear about). I think it's disgusting that privacy is being slowly eaten away by vultures, but my point is that we're already accepting this on a daily basis with sites like Facebook and Instgram, Youtube and Google and with products and services from Apple and Microsoft, for instance.

The problem is that ethical consumption is impossible. Virtually every corporation does at least something shady.

Yes, of course, but the least one can do is avoid those who are well known for it, or to back out when one proves to be unethical. People will often opt out of it because they really like the products. It's like the environment, it's impossible not to affect it negatively with a modern western lifestyle, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't make an effort and at least avoid needless things that affect it (like me driving to the store when it takes me 7-8 minutes to walk there).

Some companies are a lot more shady, and they should be punished for it, if courts and officials aren't able or willing, consumers might as well take charge and state their mind with their wallets. It's harder with products considered essential, but your life is filled with a slew of luxury things that aren't.

I don't see how anyone could defend this. Then again, they have defended the destruction of the environment, so who knows. Maybe this will affect them more and they will give a damn the same way the gave a damn when they heard about dick pics?

At this point, nothing would surprise me.

Ugh, your signature. Yaoi!! T^^T Cringes
