A sad truth lol

In honor of that - is there anything you are RE-buying?

I'm not getting Nonary(actually maybe for 999 trophies..), Danganronpa, or KH 1.5 because I have played them all.

I'm doing  Persona 5, DQ Heroes 1-2, Shovel knight. Then Horizon, then FF12 (for trophies and zodiac system).

No clue what to do after all that. Maybe Gravity Rush?

Only the Kindom Hearts 1.5-2.5 remix because even though I have played them all on PS2/DS I want them all for my PS4 mainly Kindom Hearts 1 and 2! I already have Nier, Nioh, Horizon and Yakuza 0 but have yet to open any of them because I am currently playing other stuff lol. Oh and I plan on buying Persona 5 as well! So many freaking games and so little time!

How would you write the sentence "PS4 is on fire! The amount of exclusive PS4 games releasing now is just insane, as I know most you know by now :)" yourself?

You couldn't just say "exclusives found on the ps4 and PC". What about ps3? Ps2? Vita? Also DDD from the 3ds is part of 2.8. So we can't call them Playstation or Sony games.

So tell me how you rewrite the sentences that use "exclusive" to include listing EVERY system the game is found on.

Even the statement "the amount of ps4 games" wouldn't be clear they are on the PC. So how would you write a simple sentence - yet reference every system those games can be found on?

Simple. You wouldnt use the word exclusive. Why?Because they arent exclusive.

For games that are only on PS4, you say:"These games are PS4 exclusives!".For games that are playstation exclusive(as in there are versions for PS3 and Vita, you say"These are exclusive to the Playstation family/ PS4 and Vita!".And for games that have a PS4 version, but is not exclusive to the PS4 due to having some version on PC, you say "Available on the PS4!".

I mean, it couldnt get more simple. If in the end a game is multiplatform and for some reason is not available on, lets say, XOne, you say "That game is available everywhere except XOne", or just list every single system. It takes seconds to write that.

We are in a videogame forum. We are videogame enthusiasts. If we are not correct about those kind of games and tend to turn a blind eye just to make a certain system better than it needs, who will be correct about those things? And there is always that one user that dosent know that he could purchase, either for less or it is more convenient for him, a version on the PC.

This guy gets it.

If he derived a lot of satisfaction form the portable aspect why not downscore it for missing a feature he personally found to enhance his experience? I think it's a fair reason to know a few points off a game if it is an important element to the reviewer, especially since he's still giving it an 8.5. It's not like the too much water 6.5 debacle.

It's like saying "This game is on Xbox and my friends play on PS4 so I can't play with them, it sucks", it's not about the quality of the game...

No it's not like that at all. Because Jim is only talking about solo play, and on devices he owns and which have cross save so you can play the same playthrough on different devices. So it is about the quality of the experience, for Jim. 99.9999% of other Persona fans may not care one little bit about cross play on PSV, but Jim is writing a review about what's important to him, not what's imortant to other people.

I personally think it was sensible to not release P5 on PSV, it's a dyng platform and there is a very high chance that they would not recover the costs of releasing a PSV version through PSV sales alone. But I have no problem with Jim marking a game down slightly because something of value to him has been excluded.

If he would have given the game a 10 if it had PSV cross play and knocked it down to 8.5 I'd call that too harsh, but knocking it down from a 9 to 8.5. That's only an issue for people who are far too attached to games needing to have 95+ scores on metacritic so they can feel good about themselves for being a fan of the best games.

I've only got horizon so far from all of those. Most of the Japanese type games like persona 5 or nioh don't really appeal to me. The only Japanese rpg I'm waiting for on ps4 is ni no kuni 2 whenever that's out.

Makes no sense when you realise they'll be putting all those games on PC soon.

Except people would rather buy a home console than a PC nowadays.. pc is a dying platform, as tablets and smartphones get bigger and stronger.... they are likely to take over.... streaming and digital are the way to go....

Sony is wise to offer PS NOW as a gaming version of Netflix.... which is why Microsoft is following with their program

Care to back that up with a source?

I have one that contradicts the narrative that PC is dying: http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/pc-market-grew-in-2016-led-by-mobile-and-pc-gaming/

It's actually the 2nd highest grossing platform for gaming, and growing.

Also you seem to be a bit misinformed about Microsoft's program. It's a downloadable service, not a streaming service like PS Now.

PS4 is awesome right now.
Despite being primarly PC gamer, I'm only excited for PS4 games this year

PC not getting Red Dead Redemption 2 this year is much bigger loss than Destiny or Battlefront for me.

Primarily?.

I've always found it a bit random to hear people having to say "despite me being a PC gamer", and then for a lot of the time they go on for something else. I mean I'm a PC gamer and this year has me excited for some games on PC, same for others out there like myself. I know you are different, but I've never had to see people go with that line, as if to excuse themselves or something. We all have our core preferences for what we game on, even for fence sitters as well.

"Despite [x]" can be a useful qualifier because it implies the follow statement is an exception to the norm. If someone spends 90% of their time playing on an X1 for years and then spends almost a year primarily playing on the 3DS, them mentioning the former can add weight to their comment. It quickly explains that the 3DS did something significant enough to dramatically alter their previous gaming habits.

It's definitely an overused qualifier, sometimes people try to add weight to comments that don't need it, but it can be useful. If what Radek says is true, i'd say this is one of those occasions.

There is no doubt ps4 is the place to be right now. It's absolutely unrivalled. Hopefully nobody is missing out and everyone who can afford it gets a ps4. They won't regret it. Very affordable price too.

Not all of those are exclusives though... And do you consider critical acclaim to reach as low as high 70s? I always thought critical acclaim would be 90+?...
