Why is the attach rate for Zelda and Switch so low here (50%) compared to everyone else (USA at 85% I believe).

I think Zelda is not as popular in Japan as in the rest of the world, generally. That's why I am pleasantly surprised with Switch sales in here. Splatoon 2 will provide a great bump in Switch sales, more than Zelda did imo.

Makes me wonder why people are buying it already, wonder if Splatoon really is a driving force months out from release. I guess DQXI and the chances of Pokemon and MonHun also headed to Switch would probably help too.

So it looks like the Wii U's best year in Japan, according to VGChartz, put it at 946,047.

The Switch, now at 519,504, according to Media Create, has already done over half that in less than two months, with no major holidays and supply constraints. I think that bodes well for the console, considering it's only had one major release so far.

Gotta compare it to the 3DS not Wii U.

No you have to compare it to the 3ds and wiiu and ps4 and psv.

Everyone seems to want to compare its graphics and power to other home consoles, so I think the same should go for sales.

Why its not a fair comparison? If you go by official statements, the Switch is a home console, making the comparison just right. And if you dont go by that, The Switch is a hybrid system, which then you should compare it to both 3Ds and Wii U combined, not only 3DS.And it seems that its holding extremely well, by any standard.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

It is a fair comparison, suggesting other wise is nonsense. No need to get touchy.

The legs brigade on Playstation holds strong. So happy with Horizon, Nier, Ghost recon and GTA V especially. Our old master minecraft vita is back too which is nice.

Monster hunter XX with a great second week and both Switch and 3DS hardware impressive. That's the splatoon 2 boost in effect.

Ps4 once again over 30k with no new games is fantastic. Next week there are a few new titles and then there's a holiday (obon) I believe? Hopefully it can hover around ~30k for 2/3 weeks.

Then the real battle begins. Can it average around 23-25k for the summer to beat the ps3 to 5m?!
