Well there it is! Horizon beats Zelda opening week in America. Congrats!

Having said that considering Sony announced 2.6m sold to consumers after 10 days I can't help but feel this is undertracked. Although digital is probably high.

Eh, it's a 5 day vs 2 day sales comparison. Not very fair, i'd say. And you're only taking into account the Switch

If you choose to ignore the Wii U version then sure it outsells it

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

For starters Horizon probably undertracked and it's digital sales will be much higher.

Anyway yes I'm comparing Switch vs PS4 version.  if ps4 version was on another platform it would sell more too.

Surprisingly low numbers if you ask me, so with zelda on NS at 437k, that brings the actual Switch numbers to 450-500k.

437k sold in one day in one country (+600k counting WiiU version)

"surprisingly low numbers"

lol

I expected more, I expected the Switch to sell around 500-600k close to the XOne launch which would have brought Zelda's numbers close or even surpass the 500k mark and I wasn't only referring to zelda but also Horizon which I thought would easily hit 500k fw.

And I never quite understood the principle of "but it only had 2 days of sales", say if it launched on a monday would you seriously expect it to sell another 437k? Like one would assume that 80% of fw sales would come from the first day of release.

Assuming 80% of fw sales comes from the first day that would mean BoTW could be around 520k FW which would put Switch exactly on the 500-600 range you talk about, so where are the "surprisingly low numbers"?  And that's comparing a console relased in March (Switch) with a console released in holidays season (XBO) so...

I know but it didn't so it didn't meet my prediction that's all. And whether you release a console during the holidays or not shouldn't make a big difference in fw numbers because the dedicated fans of that console are getting it day one regardless of what season it releases in. It makes however a difference in the weeks that follow.

Holidays make a huge difference always and you didn't understand what I said at all, If BoTW did 440k in 1-2 days that means Switch should be on the 500-600 range on its first full 7 days week, do you understand now? The console is doing exactly what you were hoping yet you still claming those are surprisingly low numbers.

Yes I get what you said but my point is that I was hoping to see zelda on Switch crossing over 1m on this site in its first appearance on the chart but seeing the US numbers, I start to doubt that.

good numbers !
