That's quite a list.  It's kind of weird to see a series that (to me)  looks somewhat unspectacular s consistently score so highly among players and reviewers. Just judging by how loved the games are,  they must absolutely excell at all those things. Happy to hear it has a good soundtrack too. The music can sometimes make all the difference,  especially in an RPG.

I've been meaning to try the series for a while,  but I've never really had the chance. Are the games stories connected?  Can I just jump right into p5, or would i need to play p4 first?

You can play any main game you want, they're not really connected. Same structure and officially in the same storyline (I think), a couple of support characters are the same in every game, and you could get a cameo from a past game (there is a small P3 cameo in P4, I don't know for P5). That's it, so you can jump right into P5 without knowing anything about P4.

It's not true for some spin-off games though (Persona Q and the fighting games Arena and Ultimax), because those games are P3/P4 crossovers.

Well, Persona 2 (both versions) have playable characters that were also playable in the first game, so I'd say that playing P1, then P2IS and finally PS2EP would be the best course of action when playing the older games.

Oh, you're right! I don't think P1 or P2 are a great place to start Persona anyway... ^^

I went for 18 days, Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara.  So many great places to go, so little time. TBH, I liked Osaka the best.

OT: This game will be downloading in 7 hours :)))) Can't wait.

I'd want to go to Sapporo if I went. Apparently it snows quite a bit there, and I really like snow!

Spoken like a true canadian eh. I wanted to visit northern and western japan but it simply wasn't feasible. It definitely is possible as a shinkansen can travel sendai to kyushu in 14 hours, but that is still 14 hours wasted that could be spent in Tokyo or wherever.

Hell yeah to the scores, can't wait for my PS3 copy to get here!

TODAY IS THE RELEASE !!!

Have fun with this Masterpiece guys =)

Just beat Persona 4 Golden, and watched the P5 OVA.

This game is finally coming out, huh...

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Is the OVA a prequel or what?Interested to watch it if it just gives backstory and is a prequel

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

It's just a sidestory, it doesn't give anything related to the game story except showing the characters and a bit of what they do in the game (they solve a short case just like they solve bigger cases in the game). It's kinda like a mini bonus chapter, it doesn't really fit anywhere in the storyline. They explain it directly in the OVA IIRC but I don't remember what they say exactly.

Hmmmmmm ok thanks.I think Ill watch it after I have played Persona 5 a bit, since I would still consider "spoiler" getting to know the characters, even if superficially, before the game.
