Forums - Sony Discussion - Persona 5 Review Scores - MC: 94, GR: 94.32%, OpenCritic: 94

PSU: 10/10! Persona 5 is something to sink your entire self into, and end up feeling utterly despondent about when you finally have to leave its stylish embrace.

Wow that meta score! Completely validates my picking up the limited edition for a franchise I know nothing about. April 10th (according to Amazon delivery) can't come soon enough. Kinda bummed that streaming the game is blocked though but whatever

You got the Take Your Heart Edition? For a series you're unfamiliar with, that's an impressive commitment. =p
It was the Morgana plushie, wasn't it...?

Not quite, I got the steelbook edition ;p that's limited too though right? And the TYH edition is collectors?

Either way, I saw the art style of this game and have made a conscious effort to expand my tastes this gen. Going off of hype culture, this seemed like a great game to pick up! This mindset also led me to picking up NiOh at launch and Bloodborne with my ps4 and NiOh turned out excellent, although I haven't gotten into Bloodborne yet.

Persona 5 is clearly on of the best J-RPG of its generation with a reworked combat system that adds a lot of rhythm, and the whole side of the student life at the academy. The only drawback is the dated visuals.

That shouldn't be a problem when the game looks so beautiful

I can't agree more especially with such an art design and style!

Dated visuals? Technically, sure, but the art style is incredible. My steelbook is scheduled to ship today, it's a shame that Amazon never breaks street dates the way Best Buy sometimes does.

Amazon France broke the date a couple of times for me. I got Nier Automata 2 days early. But that's usually when I take a regular shipping, they send it a few days earlier and if the shipping is faster than expected... It won't happen for Persona 5 though, one-day shipping is never early...

Considering Zelda was also a very art focused style, like Persona, and they mention 'strong framarate drops' there, on top of dated textures, sounds like they were harsher on Persoan for no good reason, when saying 'dated visuals' is the 'only drawback' the game has.

No, I dont think so.I think this is just the case of the reviewer not liking the art-style rather than the actual game having dated visuals. And this obviously apply to Zelda too.

XD

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

No, I'm pretty sure it's as BraLoD says, it's about graphics, not artstyle, as the reviewer says it him/herself. For one, I don't even see how the Persona 5 artstyle can be called "dated visuals" because I've never seen a game like that, that has such a unique artstyle.

But as far as I know, he is the only one saying it.As one user said, sure you could tecnically say it dosent have the sharpest visual it could have, but is it really dated? Not only that, but artstyle is also a part of the graphic, since a game being pretty or not is really subjective and depends on the tastes of the one that is playing.

I mean, in the end its all subjective and will depends on each ones preference, but making the jump from what one reviewer said about graphic to saying that they are being more harsh about it with Persona 5 is quite the jump.
