conservative(as if conservativ is a bad thing).

Well, yeah, it kind of is. The whole ideology of conservatism is "fuck poor people, I got my money and comfortable standard of living, so why should I give a shit if others don't?"

Well, this is the dumbest thing I've read in awhile.

I've always been a left-wing guy but that SJW thing is really getting out of hand. We're at a point where hurting someone's feelings is enough to generate a shit-storm and ruin people's lives.

I'm totally on Collin's side here!

I don't agree with the cultural marxism stuff but I sorta get where the claim is coming from. Today, you can get into trouble for making an even slightly "offensive" joke against women (see OP). Just saying that men and women are different is considered not to be politically correct these days and gets you lumped in with the far-right.

I'm all for equality but here in Germany there's a new law (only in some states, I think) which gives women the right to get detailed information on their male colleagues's monthly income. Men do not have the right to get this information about their colleagues, btw. In one state it's law now that a woman with the same qualification as a man has to (!) get treated favourably for public service positions - which is a blatant form of sexism and flat out against the german constitution.
And what really bugs me is that these laws are based on faked statistics, like the infamous "wage gap" that doesn't actually exist or the incredibly biased "Equality Index" released by the Human Development Report, which says that women are at a disadvantage if their average life expectancy in a country is less than five years longer (!) than men's. (So if the average life expectancy for women in a given country is 80 years and for men it's 76 that's discrimination against women).

So yeah, I wish this guy the best of luck and hope he won't go nuts and become a far-right extremist or something haha.

Sigh... are we still associating political currents with social trends? Cause it's getting real tiresome.

Theres left wing supportors that in no way support this kind of abuse. Please stop the disgusting agenda and mixing what are government models with social behaviour. Completely different things.

Far left? I see nothing wrong with it atm.
Douchebag behaviour? I am opposed to.

These people are making these associations themselves as a way to justify their actions. It doesn't matter if they manipulate facts and destroy people's reputation's because they're just "helping the marginalised". The ends justify the means because they're "in the right".

The part where I disagree with you is this behaviour is becoming the norm and penetrating every corner of society. Left wing politics isn't just failing to condemn this behaviour, it's welcoming it with open arms. It might not be entirely correct by definition, but the assocation is too strong to ignore.

I'm generally of the same mindset as you. Liberal person but the outrage is out of hand.

A lot of people did a fair bit of "virtue signalling",  i.e. "Look at me tear down this guy who clearly isn't a very big obstacle in terms of women gaining equality. Look at how I said mean things about him from behind a keyboard on Twitter. Look how pro-woman I am!"

I don't think Collin's life was ruined though. I think he's wanted to do this for awhile. And I think he's gotten more support on patreon due to backlashing agaisnt backlash than he would have if he had left on an ordinary Tuesday to start doing his own thing.

The Internet loves drama and eCelebs eat it up too. That's what this is in my opinion.

Bleed bleed and bleed some more, that's what happens when you throw your "friend" under the bus. Colin was the best thing about KFG. CLS already has my patreon support, April 3rd can't come soon enough.

1.) Is that what happened? Everything I saw between the two parties seemed pretty cordial. No doubt some ex-Colleauges of Collin went super hard on him, but I thought the KF guys kept it all in house and were pretty gracious.

2.) $6K a month * 12 is probably less than what Collin was making working for KF.

3.)  If I may ask, why did you support Collin on Patreon? Is it just because you're a fan of his (nothing wrong with that, I've done that too, just asking)? I ask because, as I said in a post above, it seemed like his "pitch" for CLS lacked any substance.

Yeah, that sums it up nicely for me, too. Totally agree about the "pro-woman" stuff.

I'm the first guy to stand up if I see actual inequality and I think it's because of that mindset that I hate it when people make up stuff or exaggerate the numbers. In the end, it does not help real victims at all. A few years back I had to give testimony because a woman had been sexually abused (I was the first person she talked to about it, and I told her to contact the police). When I talked to the police they kept asking all kinds of questions about her (in a nutshelll: "Do you think this is real, or is she just a crazy person trying to ruin someone's life?") When I got annoyed and said I'm 100% certain she's not faking this the woman who took my testimony apologized and told me the number of false rape accusations is so high that they are always skeptical. Just try to wrap your head around that: The real victims suffer because of this stuff! Playing the sexual harrassment card is so easy these days for the 5% or so of women out there who happen to be bad people that actual victims are considered suspicious.

And you are right, of course: The way things went probably helped Collin in the end.

1. Yes, Gregg released a statement shortly after Colin's tweet pretty much condemning him.

Hmm. I guess I just thought that Gregg's post was pretty benign.

I mean, he certainly didn't jump to Colin's defense obviously, but I think he was just trying to be diplomatic and sensitive to all sides of the issue.

For Colin's benefit, he said that the tweet was a misinterpretted joke, and that he has had things like that happen to him before too.

For the benefit of those offended, he mentioned that just because it was a joke doesn't mean it isn't hurtful.

Pretty down the middle IMO.

His co works attacked him?

They piled on saying the same things the SJW were, that it was offensive and not the stance they had ect ect ect.

I don't know if you just haven't been following what's going on with KF that closely or whatever, but you've been misrepresenting what's going on pretty badly in this thread...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

rly?

What more do I need to understand, to claim what I did than this:

Colin: Ah. Peace and quiet. # Adaywithoutwomen

then this from greg:

To me, that is him pileing on, and makeing a small issue, that only a few SJW where upset about, into a huge mess.

He basically attacked him, when he choose to write this. Threw him under the bus, instead of standing by a friend of his.

Without this post, things would have been forgotten early on.

Instead this vindicated everyone that loves to hate on people, to pile on too, and the end result is Colin was basically forced to leave his work.

I thought Colin's joke was clearly a joke. And I thought it was funny.

I take umbrage with this part though. Dismissing those who were upset as just a few SJWs is the wrong way to go IMO. No doubt we got a lot of pious "games journalists" piling on, but I think you have to look at everything in context and try to understand where everyone is coming from.

For as much progress as the Western world has made, women still face some serious inequities. Look no further than Donald Trump. The guy is on tape describing molesting women and he's our (The United States) president now.

I'm not equating Colin with Donald Trump, and as I said, I thought his joke was funny. But I'm trying to understand all sides here and I can see how if you're a woman who saw his joke on something that is supposed to be a day of solidarity for women, you might just be fatigued. You don't want to be the butt of another joke.
