If you shove needles in your eyes, record and monetise it you could get 12 months of live too.

Google already puts the results up while you're typing, Bing still does not.
Plus Google has been spying on me for years so it usually knows what I want long before I'm done typing :/

I'm also not a US resident, don't have an XBox One, don't like online gaming and have no time for more games, so I'll pass on Bing :)

I am sure they gave me last year some money for using bing and I am from Belgium. It is because my primary search engine on my wp is bing. It works.

This. Not worth it. Drawing people in like moth to a flame to make yourself seem like you're the best, does not make you the best.

You generally have an anti MS sentiment and it holds firm in this thread. Here's the thing... Google and Bing are virtually the same to me. I really don't see much if any differences, atleast for what I use them for.

So if one is going to encourage me to use their service with free stuff... well its a no brainer. I've collected hundreds of dollars in Xbox credit over the years thanks to Bing. While Google has given me dick. Seriously, this shouldn't even be a discussion.

Bing is the main search engine that comes up at work for me. Everyone downloaded Chrome of their own free will.  its nto anti MS...at this point it should be common sense large companies that are not as popular with certain things will take to drastic measures to find their way  to your attention.

It's also free if you suck 3 guys behind a bar.

3 guys? :O Woah, you must be real cheap!

I did say "you", mind you.

Even if I wanted Gold I would rather pay for it than use Bing.

I actually tried this, the search results for Bing were a lot worse, so I just stayed with Google.

"There is only one race, the pathetic begging race"

Once you reach the gold level you can get 12 month for 25,000 points. If you can also do the daily mobile searches you can get those points in less then 100 days.

Your comparison is irrelevant. Chrome is a much better web browser than Internet Explorer from my experience, I use Firefox for adblock and other features. It won't use Internet Explorer for free points because it doesn't do what I want.

When it comes to Bing and Google though, they are about the same for me. Therefore common sense tells me just use Bing and get the free stuff on Xbox.

Google essentially dominates the search engine market and making a service at par won't necessarily get you a significant marketshare. As a consumer, I like MS's "drastic measures." Although, they own Xbox so maybe giving me free Xbox stuff isn't that drastic. It sounds like you're arguing against competition.
